Great and challenging Hike with the kids ages 5 to 10 and they had a great time! There were a lot of birds tied and a fly and a small creek running on the bottom half of the trail

Not much shade but that’s not the trail’s fault.

there's hardly any shade on this hike and it's a dirt Fire Road so if you don't like fire roads you won't like this hike there's really not much to see until you get to the top and the views are pretty good from there luckily we had a nice breeze be sure to take plenty of water

Parked at lower lot after the ride share area. Seems steeper if you go left on the loop. Lots of tension power lines and buzzing on the way up. View is very nice and then you get to the creek trail which is really peaceful. Accidentally missed turn and walked up to the house with farm animals had to turn around. Using the AllTrails map helped since there’s lots of trails.

There is a suggested trail that has you go past a house and up a rocky driveway to get on the spines that is apparently privately owned and closed to public (although I did see a biker come down the same driveway minutes earlier); but the person that lives there was kind enough to redirect us to the trail and by-pass the private property.. to get to the northern spines is a bit rocky but doable, it is nice and open at the top and I was happy to get a nice vantage point to the Disney studios on Placerita at that height.. it is a good work out. There is a hill right before looping to Los Pinetos that isn’t a climb by any means but steep enough and rocky enough to send you sliding to the bottom, so wear nice grippy, hiking shoes for this. Overall, enjoyable workout, get there early to beat the sun and take lots of water if it’s sunny because there isn’t any shade on the spines.

Fantastic views of mountins and oak woodlands in what was once slated to be the world's largest landfill. The views are only marred by high voltage lines in the first half, but the second half of the loop, following the Creek Trail, feels miles away from Hwy 14, which is not far away but out of earshot.
