I followed GPS to the location. Took me to Elk Grove Blvd area. It was just a trail behind homes. it was nice and flat, okay for jogging and bikes. One was on the first leg (only part I did) was just under a mile.

Surprised to see the usage by people in the business area it goes by. Quite a few from local businesses walking together. Came by a very tame family of turkeys. Lots of walkers and very few bicycles.

Many sections of this urban trail are scenic, while others, not so much. The key term here is "Urban trail". There is a mix of paved surface and gravel road. Lots of shade, and lots of exposure. Plan on carrying water as access is limited. That said, one section takes you right by food, coffee, and Ice Cream vendors!

Not a bad urban adventure - easy walking and lots to see. After it rains the creeks are flowing with lots of water. You can find some small wildlife- we saw rabbits and squirrels and lots of geese, ducks and hawks.

Not sure which part of this trail was my favorite.

The fetid pools of filthy water stagnating in the creek bed were able to attract some blue jays and even what looked like a heron, or was it heroin? Watch out for easter egg needles in the brush!

The weird dude on the 99 overpass cartwheeling into a pushup position and shouting "you want some?" while doing very unmilitary pushups was amusing, but not sure he would have kept his distance from someone not 6'2" and male. Just sayin'

Was it a Boone's farm fueled love fest I interrupted? Or were they just in there picking up trash and broken glass? Ye gods, there was a lot of that.

6 level road crossings with inoperable crossing signals. Nowhere to park. Shall I continue?

If I could give a half star, or even a quarter, I would think I had been too kind. This trail is gross, and probably dangerous.

Trail is not very well maintained. The elk grove creek entrance has a fallen tree blocking the path.

This trail may be nice starting at some other point but was disgusting where it tells you to start. There was trash all over the place and dead fish floating in the water. I passed a few sketchy people coming out of the path and a fallen tree blocked the path a short ways in. It was really bad.

My wife and I had a very pleasant walk along the creek starting from Elk Grove/Florin Rd. The creek had plenty of water but was still and reflective. Path is gravel,
very clean and private. We will try it again as the seasons change.

Some of the path is dirt, mostly along Elk Grove Creek, but the rest is paved with bike lanes, etc. This trail meanders along both Elk Grove Creek and Laguna Creek through the middle of suburbs and across a major freeway by way of civilian overpass. "Creek" is a strong word, as the water isn't flowing.
