Due to COVID-19 trails in this preserve are closed on weekends and are temporarily closed to bikes and horses. Specific info regarding further restrictions can be found here: https://www.openspace.org/content/novel-coronavirus-updates The trails oscillate up and down a lot. At the base of the Vista Point detour, there is a placard with information about the flight that crashed there in 1953. A beautiful tree-covered hike, a perfect destination for a hot day. Lots of mountain bikers, but the trails are wide enough to give them some space to pass.

Refreshing hike during the shelter in place situation but there no big view points. Went on a Friday so there was not much crowd but the parking was almost full. Completely shaded and good hike.

Lots of bugs on this trail but other than that great hike

Lots of shade, would be nice hike during summer time, not that it was not good in February. Good, dry trails, not too busy. More mountain bikers then hikers. Couple of miles up the hill in the last part.

Had a great hike on this trail! Went counterclockwise - seems that most people went clockwise, so it was easy to spot other hikers and bikers coming the other way. Muddy in a couple of spots but not difficult to get around. Signage is good in most places but be careful to pick the right trail at the intersections! Accidentally added 1.5 miles by going the wrong way on the Fir Trail at one junction because we didn’t realize it was going in two directions, not one (we took the right fork instead of the left). Would be helpful to have the sign updated to show that, but keep an eye out and double check your route in the meantime.

Go to the left at the start if your mountain biking. The pay off is way better. Love this one. Need to come back and finish it.

Very quiet rolling hills. We hiked it but it would be perfect for mountain biking too. Went counter clockwise and we were happy we did because most of the bikers went clockwise. Not too many views but pretty the whole time.

Great trailhead with several options. Parking lot with restrooms. Multiple connecting trail heads off of Skyline (Hwy 35). The timberline view trail is intense with about a mile of steady uphill climbing. Plenty of canopy and multiple trail options. Great hike, will definitely return!

Saw 14 bikers; 12 hikers Did counterclockwise. Almost everyone else did clockwise, so I liked that as I could see all the bikers coming and move to the side Bit muddy in a dozen spots. Fine now, but would NOT be a good hike in the rainy season. Bike tires leave puddles. Up & down parts have some muddy troughs I did not see any poison oak. If it is there, it is not along the trail. Even when the trail is a bit narrower, there are no plants growing into the path at all - dry leaves on sides only. 2 mile uphill towards second half of walk was quite the workout 90 percent shady with dappled sun generally Very short part of hike is rocky but generally the trail is easy

Quiet trail, but probably due to 45 degree weather. A lot of mountain bikers, tho, so be mindful.

Nice moderate trail, almost all in the shade, beautiful redwoods forest. Only downside is there’s heavy bikers traffic, which are coming down fast on the narrow paths.

it's quite easy and a beautiful trail with proper trail paths. it's shaded throughout and has directions for each trail posted at a regular distance.

Very nice, moderate trail. Shaded by redwood trees. Took 2 hours for the loop including a 15 minute lunch break, met about 15 hikers and 5 bikers. Parking was easy and plenty.

Perfect summer day hike! Shady canopies of redwood made it a pleasant experience despite the almost 100 degree heat !
