It’s more than 9 miles for sure. Great hike. First mile is busy. Thins out a lot after that

Decently maintained, but still picked up a bag of trash easily. Nice views but tagging always an issue. History and plaques are mostly legible and detail packed. Good hike.

Pretty neat little trail with interesting history throughout, especially at the top of the hill. Views are pretty nice too especially during sunset. The trail had lots of people on it and is very thin.

High trafficked trail. Lots of people on a Saturday morning. -not hard if you’re in average shape. -not a whole lot of shade -the path is easy and obvious. Dusty. Not too rocky. -the viewpoint is pretty and relaxing. - you’re not entirely secluded and some residential houses are sprinkled around the initial part of the hike.

Steep and a little more crowded than expected in the beginning before the split to Echo Mountain Road (did hike on a Saturday morning though). Otherwise, great views!

Trail open as of 11/15/20. Incredible views at the top, can be challenging because of heat, length and elevation. Noticed some on the trail not wearing masks so remember to wear yours and keep socially distant. Bring enough water because it’s still quite hot!

If your afraid of heights this could be a bit scary. The trail can get quite narrow and nothing below to catch you. I made the mistake of thinking it be a relatively easy hike but did not account for the heat and left my water in the car. BIG MISTAKE. Hardly any shade and steady incline going up which made it that much harder. Wear hiking shoes or shoes with traction to ensure proper grip and take lots of water!

We started up around 5.45am & I wish we'd started even earlier. It was a Saturday morning, a beautiful day, but there are a lot of people on the trail, especially as the morning progresses. With the whole mask situation, it's just awkward. Constant stop & start to let people go by. Thankfully, we only saw 3 mountain bikes, but there were groups of as many as 12 people, so it was slow going. I guess in LA you're supposed to wear a mask outside, which is crazy to me, but most people wore one. Pretty views & fun things to read about the history of the mountain at the top. All in all a good experience. Street parking was easy at the hour we got there, but you're not supposed to park there before 6am. Next time, I'd go on a weekday.

HikingGreat!Rocky

This is a great hike with some nice views. Make sure to take enough water with you, around 2 L, as there's not much shade. There are some rocky and some slippery areas so wearning proper hiking shoes and using hiking sticks can help. I noticed many empty water bottles and waste bags all over the trail today (11/15/2020) comapred to my hike to Inspiration Point last month. This is simply unacceptable and irresponsible behavior. If you don't have the willingness to clean up after yourself and your dog(s) then maybe you should hike your sofa at home! Also, one may enjoy the smell of weed throughout the hike thanks to all those who decided to get high-squared and more importantly share their assets with others at no cost!

Don’t do what I did! I took us through mount Lowe road and took us up a firebreak to get us back on the trail. Views were worth the trek! The way down we continued the “clockwise” loop, now I can see why people say it’s hard coming up that way. It was hard coming down too! Ended up doing 11.1. The second half of the descent was mostly unshaded and hot

Love this trail! It’s uphill for sure but not a grueling uphill like some other trails in the area, it’s a nice side to side up the mountain. It was smoggy when I went so I didn’t get a great view but I’m going to come back on a clearer day
