Parking lot full around 8:30am on a Sunday morning. If you don’t mind paying $5, there’s a lot for Sycamore Grove about 1/2 mile down Arroyo with a nice trail up to the staging area. Since there’s not much parking during Covid 19, the trails aren’t as busy as I’m sure they would be in more normal times. Took the broad trail up to the hilltops, it was challenging. Past that point, the slopes were relatively mild. View of the lake and valley from the top is really pretty. We’ll be back on a regular basis.

Beautiful hike! Amazing view at the top. We saw wildlife all over and was the closest I’ve ever been to a cow Strenuous, but highly recommended hike.

If you want easy follow the large path. If you want hard pull up the map and go off trail onto the smaller bike trails all the way to the lake. Bring lots of water and don’t recommend bringing any dogs unless they are younger and have tons of energy. Amazing views!

Nice climb in the beginning maybe 15-20 minutes, quite consistent no breaks. Did another loop by the lake by hopping on the Heron Trail. It’ll add more climb to this particular hike. Nice lake views. Start early as you don’t want to be in the thick of Livermore heat without the shade that this hike possesses.

Very heavily trafficked trail, but thinned out the higher up you go. Views of the reservoir are spectacular at the top. Trail from parking lot is steep, we stopped several times to rest and take pics. Trail down to the water is more of a road, no shade but again, lots of views.

Great Trail. I use it as a weekly hike, the steep elevation portion is still one of my favorite parts even though of how difficult it can get. Rest is easy, lot of cows on the trails too. Best time to go is March-April or right after it rains. The hills are green and just amazing.

Could do this partially where I could see the lake from a higher elevation. The downhill is pretty steep which we called off due to too much hot wind blowing against us. Loved the hike though. It's pretty steep but one can do easily if you are in good shape.

Great hike, it took us just 20 min to reach top of the hill, the views from top are breathtaking. On one side you get Panoramic views of del valle lake while on other side you can see golf course and some wineries. I would consider it an easy hike. Kids of all ages can also do it. Highly recommend it for locals in Livermore, Tracy and Dublin. Park sign boards warns you about mountain lion however very rarely you will see them Looking forward to come back in spring as greenery on hills would definitely change the views to another level

Very dry, not much to see, but still a good hike. Watch out for rattlesnakes.

Some steep climbing in parts but spectacular views at the top of the lake and on the other side the golf course and valley. Many off- shoot smaller trails to take as well leading off the main trail. The main trail is wide so you don't feel on top of other people. It's beautiful, will come back again!
