Historical Eagle Rock… the rock that for obvious reasons gave the northeastern neighborhood of Los Angeles its name. Almost supernaturally, as the sun sets in the late afternoon, “The Eagle” appears to take flight from the west side of the rock. This trail has some expansive views of the area, mostly freeways and industry accentuated with an occasional cactus flower.

Overgrown and very lousy trail. Will not come back ever again. Weeds were so far out of the trail that you couldn't see were to step. I posted a picture of were you can complain to the city to clean the trail.

Overgrown, super loud freeway noise, narrow path, urban. There was a used condom at the trailhead near the street. Will never come back for this one.

Anyone who gives this more than one star needs to get out of the city more often. This trail is sketchy, overgrown, and overall just disappointing.

Very mediocre short trail with not very good views, plastic "caution" tape everywhere, and "DO NOT TRESPASS" signs very 50 ft. I was going to give it 1 star but the Eagle earns it an extra star.

Trail definitely easy, not moderate. Previous reviews cautioning people to wear pants are right. The trail is super overgrown and some of the weeds have thorns so I scratched my legs and have a bunch of burs in my shoes and socks. Definitely not worth the hassle for a middling view and super short hike.

The trail is skinny and overgrown. Wear pants! The chairs on the top are great

Nice, short, uphill loop trail. Overgrown badly with black mustard and other species due to our heavy rainfall this winter. Could be a little better marked,as well. Probably needs maintenance.

Short, easy hike around historic Eagle Rock, but not, alas, to the top, which is private property.
