Awesome hike with my pup! Most of it is shaded, but there is a good stretch at the top that is not so you might want to avoid going in the hot afternoon. There is a leash free section that was fun for dogs. Given there isn’t many dog friendly trails in the area, this was a good find. It would also be great for trail running. Not too technical.

Great hike with the dog. Good views along the way. Not too crowded. Love the off-leash area. Looking forward to going back and checking out the other trails.

One of my favorite hikes in the BayArea. Enjoy the approximately 4-mile loop with much elevation gain on well-graded trails. Probably less known than it's across-the-road neighbor Edgewood Preserve. The view from the top of the Dusky-Footed Woodrat Trail is wonderful.

While there are better trails/hikes to visit in the Bay Area, this is great for getting a quick hike in after work. I normally bring my dog and we run the trails. There aren’t too many dog friendly trails in the bay and you can’t beat it if you live in the area.
There are sections where you’re near the highway/ in sight of houses, but that’s my only complaint.
It’s a good idea to keep your dog on the leash in the “off leash zone” in the warmer months. I’ve seen rattlesnakes on three separate occasions, so keep an eye out!

Heavily trafficked, lots of dogs. Pleasant elevation changes and scenic views. Not entirely removed from society: road noise audible at times and private houses are visible.

Nice loop with views and variation of open ridge and shadowy woods. Went clockwise.

Nice trails for dogs but no trash cans. Great views!

Beautiful trail and dog-friendly! Just be sure to pick up after them or else you will receive a very passive-aggressive note

Nice hike with a view or two thrown in. Nothing difficult but will break a sweat. The wildflowers are unique and worth stopping for.

this trail has amazing views when you get to the top. there is even an area where can even let your dogs off leash and socialize with other dogs.

the trail itself is nice, but the directions are problematic.

to access the trail, you need to drive down Edgewood to go to the Pulgas ridge open space.

there is no access from the vista point that the directions take you to.

otherwise the trail was well maintained and a nice day
