Great hike with lots of shade. Golden Spike trail is fascinating with some narrow passages and lots of back and forth amidst redwood trees and a few streams. Enough climbs to keep it interesting but on the east side of moderate.

Lovely hike. The only issue we had was that the “loop” includes more than just Dunn trail. We got off track a couple times thinking we should stay only on Dunn.

Perfect mix of sun and shade. Note that you have to take Serpentine and Goldenspike trails to get to Dunn if you are starting counterclockwise from the south. No benches or water fountains on the trail.

I'm 6 months pregnant and this was a good workout for me. This is a moderate hike with relatively mild ascends and descends if you tackle it counter clockwise. Lots of shade, beautiful redwoods, and nice views. The only downside were the horse piles near the beginning and end of the trail.

It is an awesome trail!! Minor issue I encountered was having to maneuver around the horse piles in the middle of the trail

First time hiking this Dunn Loop. It was a good moderate hike. Lots of people especially after the rains we've had. Lots of dogs....friendly dogs and some bikers.

My favorite oakland park to hike in. Always beautiful always feel refreshed and happy after a visit here. The only downside is a lot of people all the time

I love this park, the redwoods are really beautiful and covered most of the sun while I was there so there was a really cool breeze throughout the whole hike

Loved this. We walked through several scenic views and quite a bit of shaded areas.

Enjoyed it. If you start to the left, it starts out as a wide path, intermittent shade, pretty gentle turns, lots of dogs off leash. Heading back on the part with the Monteiro Trail and the Golden Spike trail, the path is narrower, steeper, much fewer people, mostly shaded - may want to just turn around at the Dunn/Monteiro intersection and head back if you are looking for an overall easier walk. Didn't see a fee to park at the lot at the Crestmont/Skyline intersection.

Nice hike. About 3/4 shaded. Took 1 hour 10 minutes with a couple stops for water. I'd call this easy, not moderate.

The trail has a nice paved trail, it wasn't too hard. You don't need to climb anything with your hands. It's quite relaxing. There's a few restrooms and benches along the way. There are camp sites and people around just in case you got lost. Parking has a $5 and if you have your dog with you, it's $7.

I followed the Dunn Trail started from the Crestmont Drive. There were few steep drops and climbs in side the woods so it is rated moderate. The views were gorgeous when you are out of the woods. I enjoyed the hike.
