RT was 4.6 miles and took about 1 hour and 50 minutes for two intermediate level hikers. My Apple Watch clocked 850 ft elevation gain. Beautiful scenery and we saw wild boars! Love being able to get close to the lake and the manzanitas are stunning. It was hot out but fairly shady for a late afternoon loop.

It was a little muddy in spots but otherwise the trails in good shape. The biggest bummer was the number of ticks. I pulled 16 from my little dog, three of them embedded.

Nice trail well established but maybe more light-moderately traffic from how well worn it is. Best time to go is definitely off season ideal when a bit rainy if you want it to yourself. Easier to hike counterclockwise. Lots of offshoots on first mile so definitely helpful to have AllTrails mapping to keep you on the route!

Takes 30 min to jog up with a few breaks along the way. Lots of poo, watch your step. Nice view at the top and pretty view of the bridge toward the end of the loop

Pretty dry in early October, beautiful views but would come back when it's not so hot and dry. We brought our dog and she made it through the whole thing. There was a lot of hog poop on the trail.

Trail is difficult to follow.

Nice trail but have to rely on the map in the App to make sure not to step onto another trail that goes further. Also, not a quiet hike. Too many boats nearby

Trail was a little confusing at first as others have mentioned. Relied on the AllTrails map to make sure I wasn’t going down an animal trail instead of the actual trail. Well-maintained otherwise and lots of options to shorten or extend the hike. The trail crosses over the road around the half way point with a chance to use the Port-a-potty which is nice!

Very hard to follow, not well marked, they also had an Iron man race taking place a d couldn't park at the trail head. So I cold really say since we went less than a mile and turned back. Had some wine at a winery instead

Terrific trail. Madrone forest, oak woodlands, riparian environment, Red Bellied Newts, electric rainbow, very few people...definitely a regular for us!

Beautiful trail with great views of the lake and nicely shaded. A little difficult to track the beginning of the trail but doable with using the all trails map and some spotty cell service. There's a great bench spot for a picnic not far from the end overlooking the lake. Bonus that you can bring dogs. Plenty of parking in October though I imagine it can get more crowded in the summer.

Beautiful views. Trail not well maintained. We slipped several times due to roughness.

Really liked this hike. Fairly easy to find trail head. Trail in good condition. Most of elevation gain in first few miles. Amazing views. I extended hike at Boar Scat Loop. Had problems finding the trail at the end. Keeping it from a 6 Star - some Horse stuff on trail but not too bad

Went there in the summer of 2015. A lot of up hill ridding with Temperatures in the 90s. I thought we would be able to go swimming in the lake from the trail. The shore had thick deep clay which made getting into the water impossible. Not a fun day. Maybe if it wasn't as hot and if California wasn't in a drought things would have been different.
