Amazing hike, worth the uphill to get to the top. If going in the heat of the day bring lots of water, more sun than shade.

Hiked this trail on Friday 8/7/2020. The parking lot was pretty full when we started at 12:15, most of the traffic we encountered along the trial were people on their way down as we were going up. What a great hike overall! The trail map is really helpful because there are several intersecting trail systems in the area. The trail is a little difficult to follow on the last stretch to the top, but it isn't that big of a deal since you are just going up. Many spots along the trail are shaded, and there are pretty views along the whole hike. Stunning views at the top too! Keep your eye out for the geocache at the top, it was a fun suprise to find!

Great trail! Like the other reviews said, go early. Getting to the peak can be a little tricky since it’s not exactly marked. Follow the map on here, it’s accurate. I recommend climbing the granite rock to the right of the opening for an even better view and place to sit.

Great hike! Get there early to avoid crowds and heat. It started to get busier on our way down with families and larger groups around 11am. Good amount of shade if you go early. Beginning is a slight incline with all rocks, I would wear hiking boots if you have them. We peeled off to do the Mt. Judah peak, but there’s a large shaded area where the trail splits. My dog loved it! Lots of beautiful views.

Fun out and back with some really nice views. Rocky and switchbacks to start but the climb is worth it for the views. Donner summit is fantastic with equally amazing cell reception. Decent amount of shady spots along the way too. Hiking boots recommend. Not a hard hike, dog and older kid friendly.

Rocky start but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Great views at the top (including a geocache if you can reach it) and observing nature along the way. Trail traffic going up started really getting heavy on our way down, though (9-9:30a), and we had to stop several times to just large groups pass along the narrow path.

One of my favorite I would recommend to go of track a little bit and enjoy the rock climbing but use maps to go back to track and climb the small mountain that’s next to the lake it has a beautiful view

Hike was beautiful. It was pretty warm today, definitely used sunscreen. The snowpack is melting so parts of the trail are muddy, but not too bad. To get to the top of the peak is a short scramble. The views are spectacular and it was worth it.

Nice section of the PCT. Bring your boots. Lots of water on this trail. Beautiful views of Donner Lake from the peak. Follow the road down to the trailhead and keep right. Make sure you stay to the left at both forks in the trail. The second fork will take you up a ski trail if you go right. My 6 month old lab loved this trail and made it up to the top just fine. I did this hike yesterday and there was a lot of snow but mostly cleared off the trail to the sides. However these past two nights have been snowing at Donner Lake so that may have changed since yesterday.

Very rocky and steep in the beginning but pleasant after. The trail to Judah Peak had a lot of snow so we couldn’t make it through the loop. Pretty moderate hike and lots of shade. Some paths are narrow

Took this hike over Memorial Day weekend. Parts of it still had snow so trail was not very easy to follow. I followed Alltrials map very closely. Thankfully there’s pretty good service throughout this hike. Great views all the way up and especially at the peak overlooking Donner Lake.
