loved the views on this hike. in the early morning a portion of the trail was flooded so we had to travel back and use mimok trail to get up to Dias ridge. wonderful day hike with good vistas. We ate at Pelican Inn and then returned the way we came. Be cautious for cyclists.

This is NOT dog friendly. Tried the Dias ridge first and it says no dogs. Walked down to redwood creek trailhead and there too no dogs. Alltrails, please change the designation!! Drove out here for a Christmas Hike and now trying to find new hike.

We parked down by Pelican Inn and started clockwise on the trail. About a mile in we hit the sign that said CLOSED. So we backtracked, ended up bailing, and took the Heather Cutoff Trail up to catch up with the Coastal Trail along the ridge. Lovely hike hut not long on Redwood. Probably would have more luck hitting Dias Trail off of Highway 1. Also - said no dog allowed. We didn’t realize that so brought ours along. SO MANY TICKS! Do a good check when you’re done.

My partner and I took our pup on this hike. We went counter clockwise, which was a really nice relatively gentle incline for a couple miles. The views of the ocean on the way up were magic, and the lush forest settings on the way down were epic. There is a trail reroute because of bridge construction; which will require you to cross a creek about 10 wide, and deep enough to get your feet very wet. I really loved

Go counter clockwise for a sunset view towards the end of the hike. Fairly easy hike with a clear path.

Parked in the Muir Beach parking lot then picked up the trailhead just north of the Pelican Inn. Hiked clockwise for a moderate 2 mile uphill hike, then along the ridge line then a more steep downhill. Much of the trail has washed out ruts from water runoff which makes it somewhat less desirable to hike. 2 hours to hike the loop.
