I wasn’t able to do the trail bc I came to visit my grandparents and brought 2 left shoes. But someone mentioned not knowing it was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. And it’s on the website. The website also said something about a $10 car fee and a $3/person fee for the trail. Some might say it’s just for fishing but i also saw it specifically stated for the trail as well. You can find the link below. https://dvmarina.com/hours-rates-fees/

visited this weekend. parking is $10 and plentiful, even late on a Saturday morning. bring cash, or pay by credit card at the visitors centre inside. this trail requires a $3 ticket. the wildflower loop doesn't necessarily have more wildflowers than the rest of the lake loop :) 22miles of trails here, so we spent some time wandering around.

Flowers are still looking good but not great. If you want to see them come soon!! Trail was not crowded & the view overlooking the lake was beautiful.

I've now done the actual hike, and it was open! There needs to be added info in the above trail description. Two things are - 1. The fee for parking at the trailhead is $10 for the car, and $3 per person. Fee is collected as you enter the large lot/marina parking. 2. The whole lake is closed to the public every Monday and Tuesday. It is a large beautiful lake. The wildflowers though very good, are 1-3 weeks past their prime blooming time. Apparently 1 week ago, they had 4,000 visitors over the weekend (the large lot was over-flowing). Will be back next year to hopefully see the best blooms. This was a 3/5 during our visit, but would be a 4/5 if we had hit the best bloom time. It rivals the best of Joshua Tree (Cottonwood area) if you time that right.

Drove to this trailhead today. The trail was closed, with a sign saying "Closed Mondays and Tuesdays". Don't know if this is always the case, but the same sign was posted at the trail to Diamond Valley Lake North Trail!. If this is always the case, it should be in the general info for these trail descriptions. Someone there had driven to this trailhead from Orange (a 1 1/2 hr drive for them). Maybe someone who does this hike frequently could clarify this.

Nice wildflower trail. Not paved but well packed, could do kids with a jogging stroller if you're determined but there were parts that are a little steep for pushing a stroller.

Arrived a little after 12PM and there were still plenty of parking spots. Great easy dirt trail. It was really sunny and warm today (mid 80s). There is no shade so bring a hat and use sunblock. It was not as crowded as expected which was nice. Plenty of various wild flowers all around and a nice view of the lake.

Easy trail that takes you to various wildflowers at around 2 miles. would recommend coming out when it's a bit sunny and not overcast so the poppies are open. a bit chili in the morning with an overcast but it did start to get warm around 11am as the clouds started to break. no dogs allowed.

A bit early to see flowers. The view is still great. Also much less traffic on the trail.

Beautiful

This seasonal trail is in Hemet, CA (not Egan). With all the rain this year (2019), the flowers should be spectacular. Watch for when the trail opens at dvlake.com.

Easy hike to take the kids on. Great views of the Lake. As a mom, i definitely appreciated all of the porta-potties, and rest-stops that were set up. Plan on going again soon, and maybe going a little further.

Nice family easy hike, Great Lake view throughout the hike but be prepared to spend $9 for parking and $2 per person to hike here. Otherwise I would give it a 5 Star.
