Deer Hollow Farm Trail Loop is a 2.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Cupertino, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
NOTE: Some trails in this area are one-way only due to COVID-19. Enjoy a scenic and short walk out to the Deer Hollow Farm. Enjoy oak woodland and chaparral scrub along the way. This is an excellent spot for bird watching.
Farm hours: Open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (closed 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays). Park in the Rancho San Anito Park off of Christo Rey Drive.
Contact: (650) 903-6430 Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve website http://www.openspace.org/preserves/pr_rancho_san_antonio.asp
Keep a close eye your kids so they don't try to sneak into the areas with farm animals. Do not feed the animals; do not ride bikes in the farmyard.
Driving directions: From I-280 take the Foothill Boulevard exit and go south on Foothill to Cristo Rey Drive (less than a quarter mile). Go right on Cristo Rey for about a mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the County Park entrance.
Lots of families on the trail (MLK day). No clear views on the trail.
Really nice and popular park. Always enjoy walking past the farm. Lots of families out for evening stroll.
Shade: 40% shade Trail: first part and ending part is wide and paved but middle part is two people wide and one way due to covid. Some incline at the beginning not too bad. Bathroom: yes, clean bathroom Parking: this is the most annoying part. This is a very busy place so it’s always very hard to find parking. Road: very close to freeway so easy access. First two miles are ok and one way trail is pretty good but last part where a lot of trails converge is way too crowded for covid. Maybe due to the trail being wide, a lot of people not wearing masks in the last part of the loop.
