HikingGreat!No shadeOff trail

This trail is beautiful. It’s a bit of a strange trail because if you do the whole thing as AllTrails shows, you literally hike to dead ends and come back out. Overall the trail is marked well but I’d suggest having a map with you to know exactly where to go as we did go off trail a couple of times. Most of the trail is a pretty flat however parts are up hill and good treading shoes are recommended. Some nice picnic areas with tables along the way. Parts are good for small kids who like hiking but bare in mind there’s some uphill areas. Stroller friendly for the main areas.

Love this trail! A few weeks ago I saw the goats, this time the goats were gone! So sad where did they go?

Warmer day but the hike was great. A little dull with just the out and backs but seeing the goats was great.

getting a little better at understanding how All trails maps work. The trail was moderate with a good amount of hills to traverse. Views were nice as well. The goats were an additional distraction that was appreciated coming back.

Wide open main trail. Just before getting to the end there’s a side trail to the right that goes to the city reservoir!

HikingGreat!

I didn’t start at the suggested spot because of NO PARKING on Tuesday 8-12 So, I started at the Walnut Canyon Reservoir. Easy to follow trail and only saw 1 person. Probably ore crowded on weekends, but well worth the hike!! The fall colors right now, early Dec, are so beautiful along the trail. This is a hidden gem for sure.

Nice short trail for an incline workout with my pup. Horses, mt. bikers and hikers all sharing the trail today. Not much shade so go early or late.

This area has crackling powerlines above the trail. Not recommending this trail. Very dry and hot. We saw the sign for the goats, but did not see them.

Awesome! Right at the start of the trail are the “goats at work.” So cool to see them and their amazing guard dogs. Great trail - half shad half sun if you keep to the left from the start. Didn’t go to the right side so not sure about that side. Lots of parking
