The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from May until September.

This trail is an absolute killer. If there was a category above hard, like a red expert label, this hike would be it. Once you get to the north backbone trail you’ll have to be very aware of your steps. Couple 40% grades, loose rock, but well worth the pain as the views on this trail are unmatched. Start early.
