A little muddy but a great little shaded walk

Great short hike for my 11 and 13 year olds. So lush in the spring with ferns, moss and Redwoods along the creekside trail. The waterfall was a trickle before the current rain. That was OK as one hears the moving creek water during the hike in any case. Park as soon as you see a space since it’s very limited near the trailhead. Get a scoop of homemade ice cream at Posie after!

Parking is limited. Trail is well maintained and mostly flat until the climb to the falls. But even that is short and not terribly steep. Go when it’s wet or quickly after a rain. March is wonderful for flowers.

Dawns Falls to Hoo Koo E Koo trail/road loop

Very pretty and refreshing! Not difficult at all except near end and just a few uphill switchbacks. Can be slippery so wear good shoes.

Beautiful hike! Especially after rains when Dawn waterfall is full. Some of the single file trails (Corte Madera and Barbara Springs) are a bit treacherous and sometimes a bit hard to follow; however, they are gorgeous! The trail markers are brand new and great!

Nice trail in the redwoods. The last uphill part may be shipped.

Great trail, the hard part isn’t until the end, so you can choose to do the incline with the switchbacks or not. Moderately trafficked, so you’ll definitely see other people, but you’ll be alone most times. Beautiful redwoods with lots of shade.

Beautiful Trail

Waterfall was more of a trickledown this time. Not as kid friendly as I thought it would be. There are steep inclines that are great for little ones with a lot of ridges. The beginning fourth of the trail is flat wide a beautiful. I took my 9 year old and she was exhausted halfway up the incline and needed several breaks. I would do it again with no kids!

Flat most of the way except one steep hike up and a steep one back down. Some parking spaces on the road leading up to the mini parking lot were open, with easy access to the trailhead

Beautiful hike. Kid and dog friendly. Nice size creek, especially this season with all the rain. Beautiful shaded hike. Parkinh is very limited.

Great trail, VERY limited parking so go early or on weekdays. Pretty flat until you hit a few steep switchbacks shortly before the falls. The falls were just trickling today but it’s gorgeous in the canyon with the redwoods, ferns, and moss so still worth it. I did the loop up past the falls to the left, it switchbacks up to a wide fire road which also had some great views of the tree covered hills and the bay. Finished my loop by coming down the Barbara Springs Trail which was very steep & would be tough if muddy.

It’s easy with kids, our son who is 4yo has been able to hike all the way and back. Parking can be a bit tricky, we had to park 5min away from the entrance.
