Tips

This little gem of a trail highlights not only some of the wonderful flora of the area, but a little of the gold mining history as well. This a great trail for kids, dogs and families. Great river access. You will find dinosaurs hiding along the trail that are not meant to take home but to move along the trail. It's a great way to keep the kids interested in the hike without complaints. Users have reported that wheelchairs and strollers can only use a small section at the beginning, starting on the side closest to the bathroom.

The first half of this trail is accessible by wheelchair down to the river.  There are several spots with picnic tables also accessible to those in wheelchairs.

I can’t see how this trail is wheelchair or stroller accessible. The picnic tables have the accessible overhang, but other than that, there is only a very small section at the beginning with wheelchair access. Many portions of the trail washed out where it would be tough for a wheelchair. Lots of shade- moss.covered trees and rocks. Perfect for young children. Water access was nice- went later in the day and it wasn’t busy. The kids counted 90 mini toy dinos, ballerinas, toy soldiers and other animals. Small parking lot.

Loved this trail after the first one planned out didn't work out so well. loved being by the river and watching the water... definitely kid friendly, not stroller friendly the whole way, only the first bit. I'd like to come here again. loved the little dinosaurs along the way, too!

I love this little loop! I can take my son with me and we have so much fun finding and re-hiding the dinosaurs along the path. In the summer watch for the little bulb shaped flowers along the path. These are nature's natural cure for poison oak!

Our kids, 5&7 loved spying all the hidden dinosaurs along the trail. I did NOT ENJOY spying dog poop all over. Pack it out to the parking lot trash cans people! Pit toilet had no TP. I would not recommend any strollers or wheelchairs use this trail.

Its a walk, not a hike - but nice. Nice access to the river. People need to pick up their dog poop and pack it out .....

Right off the bat, look for an overhanging tree branch. Don’t run into it, looking at a discarded mask on the trail like I did. The scenery was good and we saw 5 dinosaurs and one frog. We did see three people on our walk, all with dogs. We should have brought our dog too. It was a good hike! We will come again!

The trail is easy for all ages. Even my 2 year old niece had no problems with hiking this trail and the kids love it too. Half way through there is a beautiful river to cool down in. The best part is the kids are entertained the whole trail by playing ISPY dinosaurs

My kids 5&3 absolutely loved this trail. they enjoyed finding all the little dinosaurs and army men taking pictures of each one they found, and we cheered on the rafters. It was short but perfect with little kids. I didn't bring my stroller and I'm glad I didn't. The second part of the trail isn't really stroller friendly but still easy on foot. They have tables just in case you want to stop and have a picnic. Saw on potable potty at the begining. Can't wait to do this one again. Maybe add some dinos to spot.

Got there early and it was wonderful and peaceful. The beach area is small and fills up fast. By the time we were leaving it was too crowded to be comfortable. I picked up a large bag worth of trash. There was quite a bit of dog poop on side of trail but the trail was clear. Great place for kids. Lots of rocks to climb on and ways to get energy out. It is very short though. I wish it was longer. Very shaded too.
