I came in from Sapphire street and Almond. There’s signs all over the place regarding No Parking or Permit Parking Only! I had a bad feeling that they do not want anyone that does not live in the area to park there. Private Property sign in some area. Very uninvited area. Won’t be making anymore attempts to try this place out.

I had to park half a mile south. trail was super nice. nothing overgrown. there are some private property signs about 2 miles in. not sure if they're legit. recommend it. I need to check if the national Forest adventure pass is still usable for parking closer to the entrance on Almond St.

75% of this trail is really ugly by most people's standards. The other 25% has pretty oak groves and nice canyon areas. I love this trail for several reasons: It's close to where I live, therefore convenient when I need a quick hike; and there's hardly anyone up there, which cuts down on the trash, noise, and casual disrespect of the area shown by so many other nature trail users in nearby local trails. A good place for seeing native plants and animals.

I love this spot. I called into the ranger station and they said you can park there with a national forest adventure pass.

First to Review

Not long after you descend into the canyon, the trail is not maintained. Maybe if I hadn't been trying to run it, I would have been less disappointed, but I just wasn't impressed with what I saw and experienced. The views were mediocre, the insects were relentless, and the overgrowth on the trail was discouraging. I did 14 miles on the trail, 7 out and 7 back, and I just couldn't convince myself it was worth it to go further.
