Excellent trail. I recorded 5.2 miles. Slow inclines, nothing steep, but nice workout. Throughout shaded. Took about 2 hrs 15 min. Beautiful. Lightly crowded, perhaps because we started around 4:30 pm.

this is almost a fully shaded trail with gradual inclines.. the trail is very narrow and can get really busy.. lots and lots of people chose to not wear masks.. there were no one-way signs today (July 4) and restrooms were open..

This is a nice trail with lots of shade. Due to Covid-19, they made some of the trails one-way which is very considerate!

I did this trail today after a month from the first time and I’m sad to see the one-way signs were gone. It was very busy today in about 50% of people had masks on.

It’s a really nice trail. I like it! Pretty much inside the wood and they actually cover me from the sun light! It’s windy today make me so comfortable to finish the trail.

Loved this trail early in the morning! I started at 7:45am and had the entire park to myself (and the animals). Fully shaded and refreshingly cool on an early summer morning. Steep mostly at the beginning with a short steep glute-burner at the end.

This trail is a great start for beginner backpackers! The trail is very nicely kept and clear. Not many people were there when we went on a Sunday morning, although there were definitely more people near the trailhead. Took about two and a half hours including a quick break at the top. While there weren’t any panoramic views, the shaded redwood forest provided an amazing sense of serenity throughout the hike.

Great shady trail with mostly one way for COVID safety. I clocked 5.2 miles, which included the distance from the trail entrance to the start of the dean trail/crystal springs loop. Crowded on the weekends though.

I would give this trail a 4-4.5 because of the shape it’s kept in, but there is a $6 fee that is not even mentioned anywhere on this app. Despite the fee, the trail was pretty good. Very few people and wide enough for passing people. The signage is a bit confusing in the beginning so we ended up going the wrong way for a quarter mile and had to go back up to get to the correct path. Good run and good workout though!

Great trail. It is mostly shaded and cool even in the middle of the day. Due to COVID there are a lot of convenient one way paths that help social distancing.

Very nice trail with lots of tall trees. Because of COVID signs direct hikers clockwise which works out well because since everyone is going the same direction, you hardly see another hiker. Trail is smooth, so you don’t even need sturdy hiking boots.

COVID -19 hike. Shady on a hot day in the month of June when you want to escape the city and a change of scenery. The park was packed with people on a weekend and the rangers had strategically placed placards to direct hikers on the correct route. Overall fun. Beginning was a bit strenuous but became easy going clockwise from the start.

Peaceful, cool, serene for the 2 days mid June I went. Lots of green lushness and not a lot of bugs this week. Highly recommend. 4.5 miles is pretty accurate one way full circle. Better to park towards the picnic area to be closer to the start of the Dean trail.

Moderate level hike with great views of tall trees. Our family really enjoyed this location. There was plenty of parking on a fridge afternoon. The road leading up to crystal trail was probably one of our favorite parts of the whole experience.

A very well shaded trail that’s perfect for enjoying beautiful redwood trees. There is a $6 entry fee. The trail is well maintained and they have marked off trail sections as one-way to help with social distancing. Trail closes by 7pm and restrooms were closed when we went.

Lovely meandering trail through redwood groves and past gulches full of ferns. All shaded. We did not have to pay the $6 parking fee, but a donation was appreciated. Very few people when we went on a Monday evening. They have marked the trails very well and have designated trails as one way/two way for COVID precautions. Drive to get up there is lovely with sweeping views of the Bay Area and lots of redwoods.

Lovely trail and I can say this is the most perfect trail for summer but sadly they closed at 7 .many many redwood trees and just moderate one.
