HikingGreat!

Fully shaded (would be great in the summer time), with lots of redwoods. However, no views, and about a 3rd of the trail is a wide campground road.

HikingGreat!

Great Trail. Moderate at times and easy at times. Pay attention to what trail you intend to take as if you just follow “Crystal Springs” you will not be following the loop as intended for this particular trail. Id give 5 stars if there were better views- still a beautiful trail! I just love being able to enjoy the views at such an elevation personally.

Loads of parking, trails were very well marked and maintained. $6 entry fee that was well worth it! Almost everyone was wearing masks too

Nice shady trail through the redwoods, gradual climb out and downhill all the way back. Not too much traffic on a winter Sunday and most folks were wearing masks.

Beautiful shady redwood trail. Wide in most places. Would be good during rainy season as it doesn’t look like it would puddle much

Lovely trail. A number of other people on the trail, but I wouldn't call it crowded. It was shady most of the way and the trees loomed above us.

Nice trail through second-growth redwoods and other (oak, CA bay laurel, etc.) forest. Pleasant hike with our eight-year-old child. Little elevation change, and downhill all the way back. The only far view (of the bay) was past an electricity tower, but the forest views themselves were good on their own. Good fragrant plants along the way. Would like to return in the late winter or spring when the creeks are flowing. In mid-October, it was all dry. Even on a Saturday afternoon, we hardly passed anyone at all. Shady and interesting.

Really pleasant hike in secondary redwood grove. Super convenient from parking lot, where restroom and trash facilities are available.

Heads up: Bring $6 to park. The trails are great. In 60 seconds, one finds themselves immersed in Redwoods. Quiet.

Twisty and shaded trail, then a long downhill on a fire trail.

I liked the shade and redwoods, especially since I went on a hot afternoon! The trail was a little dustier than I’m used to for a forest— definitely not the damp packed ground of other redwoods.

Many routes are marked one way now. For example, the direction of the trail suggested by this article is 50% against the one way sign, including the beginning part.

Nice but just need to be aware of the one vs two-way trail lanes as part of social distancing

Went around 3pm. Didn’t go all the way around but only saw a dozen or so people on the trails which are marked either one way or two way. Some routes will be marked no entry because of this. Entrance fee was waived but accepts donation cash only. First time here will return. Nice and shaded, some steepness.
