We hiked the opposite entrance from Mill Creek Falls. So much variety along the trail. The meadow surrounding the lake was aflame in wildflowers. Snow still in patches in the wooded areas of the trail in late July. I loved the solitude of the lake trail. We didn't see anyone for hours!

This is a nice hike to bring the little ones on. It's fairly easy & short, passes Cold Boiling Lake (look for bubbles) before reaching Crumbaugh Lake, which is surrounded by meadows. If you have time & energy, you can take the cut-off at Cold Boiling Lake & take the back-way in to Bumpass Hell.
