Very overgrown with LOTS of poison oak, some parts of the trail were impassable with poison oak growing in the middle of trail. You could barely see the top loop because it was totally overgrown & the trail was very narrow. I started the top loop but turned back because I didn't want to continue bushwacking and surprise a snake. The view was amazing and there were very few people on the trail. I wouldn't reccomend this hike this time of year if you are sensitive to poison oak.

Nice trail which ascends to beautiful views; dog loved it. Very few people

no shade

Great view at the top. Little shade because of Thomas Fire two years ago. Foliage is coming back nicely. Look out for poison oak!

Lots of wildflowers!

lots of green and wildflowers. few rocks in the trail made coming down a little difficult. We had a light sprinkle on the top. It only lasted 5 minutes but that was enough to make the red clay very slippery there's lots of shade below oaks along the trail

Hike has amazing flowers right now! Easy uphill climb.

Enjoyable hike with nice vistas, beautiful flowers along the way. The start is mostly switchbacks on a week maintained trail, somewhat steep. The trail as listed here splits just before one mile in; it's easy to miss the turn to the left that goes up to the peaks of the hill. If you pass a lookout point to the right and start descending, you passed the turn (which is in the middle of a field. I'll post some pics of it). That said, that turn up towards the peaks is not as nice of a path – it's a sandy wash that's easy to slip in, especially downhill). The views are nicer from up top, naturally, so it's a trade-off. After that, we skipped the last part and looped back (so we did a 2.5 mile lollipop) and it took 2 hours with breaks. Few folks when we started at 9 am on a Sunday in April, and quite a few more as we were descending by the end.

Very lush and green right now, if you don’t mind navigating all the mud.

Moderate hike with some shade in sporadic areas. In mid-Oct it was pretty warm, about 75*F around 9:00am. Came across quite a few hikers so I wouldn’t say it’s a lightly trafficked area. One small area had a row of light brush overgrowing the path but it was easily passable. Mostly single track and beautiful even though there were some burn scars from the Thomas Fire last year.

Delightful but more challenging than anticipated with some steeper inclines. But we were rewarded with fantastic views and the length was perfect for us (took 2 hours with a couple of short breaks).

Overall a pretty nice hike once you reach the top, about 1.75 miles in. The bees are a little much at times.

great morning workout with beautiful views and vantage points.

Not a trail to do in the afternoon heat. would like to come back in winter or early morning. There are some views and ample parking. Not a heavily trafficked hike. Nice for peace and tranquility. Downside is all the vegetation overgrowth, which poses a threat for ticks.

Did this trail with my 9 year old. Mostly steady incline for the duration. Not many sights until the end. He was over it pretty quickly and so was I.

Quick and fun trail! We extended it up into the Cozy Dell Canyon. Lots of wild flowers and butterflies! Very green! We got some water in the creek areas too!

Very fun, quick hike! Be careful though, there's a lot of poison oak on the trail right now!

It's very muddy right now so be careful. We tried to come down the south face via a Google Map Forest Trail that no longer exists. Wild but we made it.

Some poison oak but nice short climb for a view of Ojai Valley.

Great hike. Not sure on the loop part tho. Ended up at the road.

Nice, very moderate trail. Steady, but not strenuous uphill. If you opt for the loop it gets more difficult. You're basically going up a rock slide on the loop. Worth the extra half hour though great views.

All uphill! Perfect morning leg workout. Great view at the tip.

we had a good time. it's very dry right now so be mindful of the slippery slope.
