A hidden gem. This preserve is more or less just the one trail/loop. Live Oak trees, golden California hills. If you're familiar with the hills around here you'll know what to expect.

About four miles, perhaps two hours for a family to hike. A few well-made benches are placed along the trail at convenient points. A couple places with picnic tables even.

One such bench is located near the highest point of the trail — about half way around the trail. This is an ideal place to stop, sit down, and enjoy a real rest before your descent.

The only downside is the lack of cover. It is a mostly (90%?) exposed trail and can therefore be a bit brutal in the sun if you are not prepared/dressed for it.
