Great hike! More on the Moderate to Difficult side. Very steep up will. But in my personal opinion the reason why this hike gets 5 stars is due to the challenging up hill battle. Once you think youve finished all the hills you take a breathe to catch a break and then BAM! more hills but these ones are more steep that lead you straight to the top of the mountain. The view is definitely worth it. Try earlier in the morning (6-9) before the heat becomes another challenge (;.

Very very steep but it is nice to have a wide trail. Nice if you’re not in the mood to be climbing over rocks and would rather just push forward. There are a few flat sections to give yourself a break Took us 2 hours total with kids and stopping a few times to rest

It's a great trail and steep hills definitely pose a challenge, but the summit gets crowded easily and a lot of people are inconsiderate on the trail when in groups because they ALL apparently have to be shoulder to shoulder across the trail. I took Barker to get back down out of curiosity and really liked it, except it's so narrow and there's not very many spots you can step off to the side to let someone pass you while keeping your distance. Even without COVID rules, I don't want to be that close to someone.

Great hike for dogs early morning or late evening when it's not too hot. The service road is wide so you can avoid unwanted run-ins with other dogs or people.

GPS jumped a bit so not completely accurate on the reading but close enough. Great hike, the only downside is how many other people are on the trail.

This trail is great for quick cardio workout. I bring my dogs on leash with me. They love it! It’s less crowded then the Cowles Mountain Trail and much more wide. Less switchbacks and more of a straight up climb to the top.

Forgot to record the hike from the beginning. Did the Barker Trailhead which is almost entirely a steep climb. A really lovely hike.

Beautiful views of San Diego and the inland areas. Just gorgeous. Somewhat crowded but it’s a big path so people are spread out and everyone is respectful. I did get a bit annoyed that at least 20 people were ignoring the “no music” rule, and apparently they were unfamiliar with headphones. But that in no way enjoyed my experience. Overall I’m giving it 4 stars because the climb up is somewhat uneventful, but the payoff of the view at the top is awesome.
