Amazing view at the end if you follow the “risky trail” sign at the fork in the road at the end of the trail. Be careful-lots of loose rocks

Too long of an approach to the actual climb. A lot of loose soft sand and loose rock. Poor markings. No

Nice two-hour hike. The last 1/3 before the top steep and very rocky, so be ready. Worth the climb for the great overlook of Salton Sea to the SE.

Definitely not moderate. If the Art Smith Trail is labeled as hard, this absolutely must be hard as well. This trail is short, but entirely uphill. Not to mention it becomes difficult to find the way once you start going up the side of the mountain. Look for the rock sculptures to know which way to go as well as the rocks on the ground. People have tried to use rocks to direct hikers in the proper direction when it's not obvious. Enjoy!

Fun little hike. It got a little confusing towards the end, as the trail becomes a little thin. If you follow the ducks then it’s not too bad though. I accidentally paused my watch halfway through, so the entire trail wasn’t tracked lol

Found this trail by accident when hiking with my 7 year old son and husband. We went far enough up the trail to see 3 Mountain Goats. The next day, I went back. I got to the junction of the quarry trail and a trail which goes to the lake via a mountain pass. I did the pass first. As of this writing, someone has put yellow flags to mark the trail to the pass. It was very dicey in sections and would be very easy to lose the trail without the flags. Once at the pass, I couldn't see where the trail continued to the lake, so I turned back and then went to the Quarry Overlook. An awesome hike, overall.

Very pretty and doable hike! A little bit of elevation towards the top, but great views as well.

It was tricky to find and keep on the trail. It ends rather unceremoniously as you don’t summit anything, but it is lovely with good overlook views.

Whole thing was great. It gets a little tricky to navigate towards the end with the trail getting a little broken up and washed out, but overall I’d do it again.

Great hike. Gets harder as you go. Rocky and hard to find the trail. Hikers have put up these Little Rock stacks to follow. Keep an eye out for those to keep you on the track. The end views are definitely worth the trouble. Go early, it gets HOT! And no shade. Cheers!

I would say this trail starts out easy, becomes moderate, then hard. The last 300 yards are a steep rocky climb

Signs don’t say to Quarry, you have to follow the signs that say to Lake. Last leg of hike is pretty rocky but a lot of fun.

Amazing hike off the trail. Take the look out trail that overlooks the Quarry. Even saw a big horn sheep!

The first mile is mostly flat and wide open and very easy, but that last half mile is the climb to the view. Totally worth it and you don’t get the 360 views until you get the top of the ridge. Since the majority of the hike is mostly flat walking and picnic trail areas, it left me wanting more.

This was a nice hike with some 600+ feet of elevation gain to a little saddle ridge viewpoint overlooking The Quarry Golf Club in one direction and La Quinta Cove in the other. Trail is well marked with rock cairns to guide they way.

We ended up going past the quary towards the lake. It was a relatively easy hike. The first portion is service road. It's not as picturesque as the hikes around Palm Desert and Palm Springs. From the peak we were looking east towards Indio, Thermal, & Coachella. I would not do it again.
