Super fun trail with a nice campground when the driving is over. Went off the main trail it can get a little tricky did a riverbed needed 4L and front and rear lockers but was super fun and beautiful! Had a great day!

Of all the places I've been so far, this is absolutely my favorite! However, if you were to just follow the mapped out trail on here, you would be in for a disappointing 30 minute drive. We took the outer loop trail which is about moderate. You can stay in 4 high the entire time no problem. There are lots of offshoot trails for various sized vehicles. The main offshoot for 4 wheeled vehicles is very tight from overgrowth. But the main loop is a lot of fun, pretty views, not too difficult in a 4runner with K/O 2s and a stock suspension.

Great views from Los Pinos summit, I watched the (distant) fireworks from there. You will need high ground clearance to venture on the trails off the service road. Watch for motorbikes. Espinosa Trail was too sketchy for me and my 4runner for a first time night driving! Gorgeous sceneries overall, glad that I could spend some time there.

Trail is open! I just did this today, lots of trails to explore. We went up to the lookout and took Espinoza trail down and around back to the staging area. 4runner with 3in lift, 285s, and offset wheels. 4hi most of the time, 4l maybe twice. Great area!

Great trail, couldn’t do most difficult but everything else I could with my 4runner on a 3” lift. Highly recommend 4wd. Best so far in Southern California. Everything was open

Pick your posion on this one. Beautiful trail that circles the park and acn be tricky in spots but the rough stuff is in the middle. Some not for the faint of heart. Plan on using al 4 in the middle.

Visited on Dec 30, 2019. Cool trails but be advised, most are closed right now due to wet conditions. At almost every trail we found a locked gate and sign that said trails are closed until things dried back up. You can still make it to the two campgrounds but you can’t even drove to the fire lookout. Hopefully it will be open soon.

The road is easy, the many offshoots can be difficult and will require 4x4 and high clearance.

Did the outer loop clockwise from 4 corners to Skye Valley road, Corte Madeira Rd, Espinosa Trail to the fire lookout in a Wrangler JKU Sport no lockers 2.5” lift. Aired down and lots of fun lines only used 4 low for 2 sections and my 33” AT tires had to fight a little but no real problems. Plenty of pin stripes from the close bushes as many mentioned.

Gunslinger (11) was a really good intermediate trail. It’s narrow, but I never ran into another truck to try to squeeze around. There are some tricky spots if you don’t know how to find a decent line, but overall it should be enjoyable to most off-roaders. I completed it in a stock 3rd Gen 4Runner (4wd/ rear locker) with decent tires. I only decided to do one section in 4wd Lo, but it probably wasn’t necessary. The only real downside is this trail alone doesn’t really go anywhere, it links to harder trails that I’ll need to try in a group.

Best place to go near San Diego. Everything from easy to very difficult. I’ve done all the trails, but bronco peak and bronco peak connector are my favorite. At least be equipped with a rear locker to tackle the connector.

Some fun trails. We were just a small group of two JK's. One unlimited with 3.5" lift, 34" tires and lockers. The other stock Willys door. We had fun on gunslinger and even made it to the Bronco peak 3 trail but opted not to go up. Decided to try to go down to Broncos flats 5 but as we were going to head down there was a few dicey sections we decided not to chance by out selves so headed back out on Gunslinger 11 out to Skye Valley Road to finish our loop. Defiantly high brush that will mark your body but the trail made up for it with some nice rock obstacle and great views.

The outer ring and gunslinger are easy, but the rest is more difficult than advertised. Be prepared for pinstripes and clearance problems at a minimum. Air down and sway bar disconnect recommended. Come with your own recovery equipment or bring a friend that has some.

There is the option for hard, very technical, rock crawling here if you're inclined.

So much fun! We took the Jeep out and we're not disappointed. The trails are a little more for ATVs or dirt bikes, but we still enjoyed it. We were there for two days, camping one night.
