Hiked today. Not for the AAA Club hiker - which I am. Trail had lots of scree, snow, and eventually defeated at the cross over, where there once was a concrete bridge, due to the high level runoff.
Definitely bring water moccasins if you want to cross over and get to the first lake.
Regardless the scenery was spectacular and worth my 8 mile out-and-back.

Hiked this with my father in the 90's. Actually did a couple other's in this general area that went to smaller little lakes which I can't seem to find listed on here. Clover lake? Comes to mind. Anyhow. We always made this a 2-3 day trip up in here. The elevation makes it a bit harder. Anyone of able body, fortunate enough to experience backpacking anywhere in this general vicinity will have memories of a lifetime. The smells & scenery are breathtaking. You will be challenged. You will be tired. But, you will feel so accomplished when you return. Pack smart.
