01/10/20 - The trail was nice and well maintained. Great views of the river throughout. I sprained my ankle a month or so before and this was the perfect trail to try my ankle out on. The hike was short and easy. It ends at a road to the 4x4 Park so nothing really rewarding at the end. Might be worth coupling this trail with the Lake Clementine trail.

Best time of the year to likely hike this trail. Mid 50’s and sunny, so the need for shade wasn’t a factor. Beautiful views. There were a few large groups of mountain bikers but everyone was courteous when passing. Our pup loved it, and met a few other friendly furry friends. Would love to return again.

the trail itself is nice. however due to the narrow trail and it's easiness, it has a lot of mountain bikers which make it a difficult hiking experience.

Very pretty. Harder side of easy. Must be very fun for mountain bikers. Won’t go again because too many bikers....not evil just a lot of them. Takes away from the nature and adds to the feat of being flattened by a biker on an arrow pass

This is a great beginner hike for those wanting an intro to hiking. I would steer clear on the wknds due to mountain bikes. Know your bike commands (bike up or bike back) to alert others on trails and those with pups. These bikes 'move fast'. Lots of dogs. Views are nice of the river. Parking is tough on wknds so arrive early (8a...especially on sunny days). $10 to park/cash only. Happy Trails

Trail is busy with mountain bikers be aware. The parking is $10 cash. The trail starts across the road from the clementine trail behind restrooms. Warm in the afternoon. Would not go again but it had nice views of the river below.

Ran into a couple of bikers and had to stop to let them by. Also ran into a king snake crossing our path. Trail was narrow next to a steep cliff and rocky. We went in the afternoon about 1pm, way too hot and not enough shade. Had our 8 year old son and dog with us, ended up turning around and going to the Lake Clementine Trail across the way. Beautiful views of the river though. After Clementine we ended up coming back to this trail and headed down to the river.

I would definitely give this a 5 star review for beginners. Great view, easy hike, and incredible wild life. BUT the amount of bikers on this trail is ridiculous. This trail inclines to the top of the road where most bikers park and takes the decline down for a little downhill action. Since this trail doesn’t specify if it’s only a hiking or biking trail, both bikers and hikers uses this trail. We found ourselves having to get out of the way more often that usual for large groups to ride pass us. A few almost went off the cliff because they were going too fast to stop since they were coming hard on the corners. We made it back safe, but I wouldn’t go back there again if this trail doesn’t become limited to only hikers. Not trying to ruin the fun for anyone, but the narrow parts of the trail makes the pass even more scary. Loved it, but won’t be going there again.

This was a great hike with beautiful views and very little incline, which was perfect for my healing sprained ankle. I took my pup and had to stay alert for bikers come down the trail fast. The first part of the trail is more narrow but then it opens up so two people can walk side by side comfortably. There was a small waterfall a little past the middle of the hike that was starting to erode the trail, so you have to be careful there. But my pup was very happy to roll in the water from it haha. Over-all, my favorite trail up here.

Great trail for the dogs. A few sections get a little narrow if you don’t like heights but not overwhelming. Beautiful views!

Had a great run here on 3/31. There are some Rocky parts not nothing to tough.

Good trail for all levels. It is not too steep, but does have a lot of rocks. To get to the river it is a little challenging. More sun than shade, but good out and back trail.

Nice trail pretty decent views

Nice trail, mostly up hill on the way in. Not many places to sit and enjoy the views, but overall it was good. Some mountain bikers, simple just keep a eye open! Have fun

This was a pretty easy walk, mostly flat, great views of the river. Not sure if I'll do this one again just because there are a lot of mt bikers and heavy foot traffic. We typically like to hike where there's little foot traffic. We did go down a steep hill so the dogs could play in the river, which was beautiful and refreshing.

Great final descent section of what is becoming known as a mountain biking destination for NorCal. Just have to watch out for the hikers that are unaware this is predominantly used by mountain bikers.

Wouldn’t hike this trail again. Not much shade. River is a long ways down. Not accessible except at the start. All up hill.
