This was just the hike I needed today. Easy and educational but was able to lengthen it to a summit with a great view!

Easy walk. Absolutely recommend! Minimal effort for maximum return! We went on a day where it was 104 degrees and the palm trees provided excellent shade.

Went down to the pond at the end of the McCallum Trail to check out the area and see if we could locate the Great Horned Owls nesting there. Found the pond but not the owls. Very cool area though. Kaitlin, Chip, Donna didn't want to join me on the Moon Country loop so I started down that way alone (:--( thinking it was a quick wrap-around trail. It just keep going and going so, not having a map, I reluctantly turned around so as not to keep my peeps waiting in the parking lot. I was soooo close to the loop-back too. Did I mention you're hiking on and around the world famous San Andreas Fault. Yea, do this trek!

This is a must see if you are in coachella valley!!! Easy walk for almost anyone. Gorgeous tall palm forest in the middle of a dessert. Educated volunteers who were very accommodating but they close promptly at 4:30. Very cool. Highly recommend

Lits of good hiking here, with many isolate fan palm oases. Iconic Palm Springs scenery.

This was an incredible and fun place to hike. Simple well marked trails and some incredibly unexpected sights. It was an incredible place, bring some cash for a donation for parking.

Definitely NOT dog-friendly. Saw at least 4 NO DOGS ALLOWED signs before checking with the docents. Hope the site moderators update this quickly as dog-friendly is our major filter for finding trails. Should have taken a picture for you but thought of it too late! Looked like a great place to hike so still giving it 4 stars but we could not experience it first paw!

What a super place to wander. There are so many different trails with different vistas. Highly recommend going early (opens at 6am) during the summer & bring lots of water (I finished 100oz on a 6 mile hike). Not many places one can see a palm oasis, a pond, cross the San Andreas fault, & wander through the wash canyons all on the same hike. This Preserve is a neat place to check out.

amazing spot to check out. if you walk over to the pond bring water as the trail has no shade and is a bit further then it looks. we were here in the afternoon and it was so hot. try to do this in the morning

This is an easy trail. Make sure you get there early. It is a popular destination. It is sandy and rocky. Be sure to wear some good traction shoes. Love this trail.

What a gem. Took Papa(75) on full loop. 85 minutes. Hike out to McCallum Pond and back for a shorter and beautiful hike.

Pretty easy, well marked, well traveled trail. Took the moon country loop, very little elevation although there was one beautiful vista with 360 mountains. Was coming around 4pm in December and it was getting pretty crowded with folks looking to be out at dusk.

Just a fun easy hike.

Very special. Lots of History

Really easy, more like a leisure wall. Beautiful oasis with wooden built pathway, desert scape and then another oasis! Gorgeous! I recommend going right before golden hour (in winter around 3/4) to avoid the desert heat and watch as the golden rays completely transform the oasis and make it even more surreal. BRING WATER!

This place is an undiscovered gem. It is what we all would expect if in our dreams we stumbled on to a desert oasis. The docent was fantastic. We added the Moon Country Loop to our trip out to McCallum Pond. The trip to the pond is a 2 mile loop and adding the Moon Country Loop added another 3 miles making our trip about 5 miles. Go see it!
