Left trailhead Sat Oct 5th. Took the pipeline from South lake and arrive at our camp at Brown lake in roughly an hour. Its only two miles in. We camped there to help acclimate before climbing the following day. We had driven straight from sea level sat morning and were definitely not acclimated yet. The campsite near brown lake is really nice. Sunday Oct 6th: Left camp at 5:30am Saw the sunrise from the talus field below vagabond. Summited vagabond peak by 8:30am Summited Cloudripper around 10am. Left the summit of cloud ripper around 10:30 Back at the trailhead by 3pm. Took a few breaks along the way to soak our feet in the cold streams. Total Hiking time was about 11 hours including the breaks. Some have indicated that this is a class 3 climb on other websites, i solidly disagree... this is a very non-technical class 2. It is a lot of gain, and it is tough, but it isn't technical at all. Super fun climb. The summit of cloudripper has some of the best views I have ever seen from a mountain. Just spectacular.
