Family friendly trail with great beach access and wildlife all around. Highlight was the sea otters near Morro Rock!

Anyone giving this less than 4 stars is a trail snob! Who wouldn’t want to walk through the sand to a landmark rock and have the ocean and the bay next to you almost the entire time! Surfers, families, otters, boats, seashells and friendly people. What’s not to love?

the dunes are not dog friendly. even to just cut over to the beach. so the only thing to do is walk the length on the inland side and pop out near the rock where dogs are allowed. the inland side is part cement, part sand, part dirt. theres a ballfield, playground, and a water treatment facility, so not a very nature-driven walk or picturesque. looks like most locals use this as their daily jogging trail. my advice is park at Morro Rock and walk the stretch of beach to Cayucos. much prettier, tons of san dollars, and you're not bumping into jogger and strollers.

Nice, easy and peaceful walk. Morro Beach has great waves (surfing), small sand dunes and lots of compact sand (running). Access to walkway around Morro Rock (through the parking lot), where you can see a lot of Sea Otters, Birds and Sea Lions. Bring binoculars. Back of “the Rock” has a rock border wall with waves (sometimes) crashing over the top. Climb onto back rocky terrain (at your own risk) to access more secluded area with larger rocks that are closer to water.

This is an urban hike, with surf contests, water treatment plants, parking lots, etc but also with beach, shorebirds, Morro Rock. It’s nice if that’s what you’re looking for.

It's a nice peaceful walk around the park and preserve. Take a stroll down to the beachfront if you like. Just know you're walking through sand dunes sand so it's a little challenging, but not really

I run this path on a regular basis. I start in the parking lot just further north than the playground, which has a bathroom and beach access, and take it behind MB High School and to Morro Rock. It is accessible to all ages and mobility levels. There is a playground and bathroom a little ways down the path. Lots of cute brush bunnies running around and some signs explaining local plant life.

Short loop trail that I've taken my boys on a few times. Very easy hike along the beach and is always cool and breezy. Anyone of all fitness levels will enjoy this trail.

my girl friend and I like to ride our bikes on this paved trail through the marsh/homes to The Rock.

Nice relaxing walk thru estuary, sand dunes, and along the beach to Morro Rock. Huge surf crashing over the breakwater into Morro Bay. One of the nicest beaches in the area for fine sand and loads of shorebirds.

I really didn't enjoy this trail. It really wasn't a trail actually, it was a paved walkway through a neighborhood park which ended on the beach. The additional trek to Morro Rock seemed to be tacked on just to add some length or interest. The part of the beach on Morro Strand was nice, and do bring a bag to carry sand dollars, they are plentiful. Otherwise, a boring ho hum walk.
