This paved bike trail goes around the reservoir on the maintenance road. Lots of fishermen out here. The pavement is smooth, the views are nice.  You can park on the levee just off the Byron highway where all the fisherman park. It can get super hot during the summers.

Wouldn’t go any other time other than sunset. Super pretty. But also very windy and cold

Needed a place to get a 10 mile hike in that was also local to us. Be sure to bring your essentials, especially sunscreen, snacks, and a windbreaker. The wind on this day got up to 33 mph and you are totally exposed on this trail.

It would be a good bike riding trail for an easy ride. The path is paved pretty nicely. But the scenery is not very nice.

Just a basic ride around a non picturesque lake. the only redeeming value was that the paved path was well maintained. Not worth a special trip.

Dog friendly! Great walk. Access to the lake/river and it’s windy.

This is a nice easy flat walking trail. However, the trail does not connect all the way through. I walked all the way around to the very end, only to have turn around and go all the way back. Important to note you cannot connect all the way around, as this is 16miles total there and back.

This is a very easy and flat hiking trail. The trail that is closest to the water is paved. The trail that is on the outer edge of the water in not paved. You can walk or bike. There is a settlement halfway into the trail, and a couple of motorcycle riders were on the trail as well. I found a decent amount of fisherman on a Saturday morning. As some other reviewers have mentioned, there are no restrooms on this trail, except a portable toilet at the beginning of the trail. There is absolutely no shade in this trail. Another thing to keep in mind is that to walk all around the lake, you will have to cut through US Davis Fish Conservation and Culture Lab, I am not sure if that is possible, since that is the only way you can do a "full circle" based on a map view. I hiked four miles into the trail and turned around for a total of eight miles.

Three stars only because of the section of Old River behind the Forebay. A lot of life back there. I didn't go past the end of the slough. The rest was a bit trashy and not much to see. No return trip here...

They have easy trails to hike. But no restroom facilities out on the trails.I would recommend not to drink a lot of coffee or water if you go there.Especially, if you are female.A little different for we guys. Today was our first outing there and will probably go back tomorrow. If you like to be near water, it's not a bad place for that. There aren't many trees or hills as far as scenery .

Not muck to say, except its a rocky paved path. Nothing really to see out there. We use to Bike to the dam to go fishing for big striped bass now we kinda just go fishing at the entrance lol. Anyways, not really worth the trip if honestly unless youre just trying to get some exercise in or go fishing.
