Loop trail through Roadrunner Trail open all year to all skill level. This section of the trail branches off of the Roadrunner Trail and loops toward Cathedral City and back around the Mirada Villas ending on the east side of Frank Sinatra Drive.

Nice morning hike. Trail in good condition. Great panorama of the valley from a point. Fun to watch planes on final to the airport. Stopped for a latte at the Ritz!

I enjoy looping trails that offer great views of the valley. Birds playing in the wind currents and airplanes on final approaches provided interesting activities.

I parked behind Rancho Mirage City Hall and started on the Bighorn Overlook Trail. I then crossed the road and took the trail to the left where the Chuckwalla and Road Runner Trail head began. The Chuckwalla is a narrow scenic trail that was well marked. The end of the trail has you walking back down on the street where I again caught the Bighorn Overlook Trail to the parking lot.

Decent, very pretty walk, but parking is far from trail entrance. Also, the loop includes the road :/.

No parking at trailhead. not much of a scenery except views of a few luxury homes and a hotel. no shade. best to go in the morning and late in the day.

No parking, have to park at bottom of the road and walk up on the road. When you finish at the top. You walk all the way down on the road. It ok but not great.

Trail is primarily for guests at the Ritz Carlton (across the street). To use the trail you must park at the hotel via the valet service (which at least is free). I'm a moderate hiker and found this trail to be pretty easy overall. It's short (only 2 miles) has a mild up and down incline, and is well marked except for the end. Views are good - mountains, birds and some developments. The only annoying part is that a brief stint of maybe 0.4 miles walking on the road is required to complete the loop. The rest is a dirt and rock trail through scrubby hills. It was a good option for an easy yet visually stimulating stroll.
