Awesome trails so much to see and do. Saw elk, quails, rabbits, geese, condors, many birds and lots of different flowers...

Not a lot of shade but good views once you get to the top of Castro fire road. Very unique rock formations too. Would recommend.

WOverall wonderful hike but it can be rough at times. Pay attention to the map because you can easily get lost. Loved all the different scenery and majority well marked. Not a lot of shade on the trail so it can be hot fast. Would recommended to do again!

HikingGreat!

Hiked the full Bulldog loop on Presidents day. This was a TOUGH dayhike but absolutely beautiful area. Really great workout. The MASH site was small but kind of cool.

It was good, lots of spots to climb at the top, great view of the ocean, but it is windy at the top.

All up hill on the first portion but good to get that out of the way. Not a ton of shade so I’d maybe pick a less sunny and blazing hot day

Great trail! Will be amazing once the hills are green. Amazing views 95% of the time. Many opportunities for bouldering. Unfortunately, mostly fire road, but well with it! Go to Castro Peak, not the crest, for 3.7k gain and almost 13 miles of hiking. It can make a great point to point trail due to parking lot at Castro Crest.

Hiked on Tuesday. Pay parking or use park pass. Nice incline. Kinda a boring fireroad after 45 minutes. Nice views—c’mon people, mask-up when passing each other. 7:35. Car. Ele: 497 8:35. Ele:1886 9:40. End of trail at road. Ele:1982 11:25. Car

HikingGreat!

What a gem of a walk! Beautiful view of the ocean on an easy to walk through trail. I ended up taking a different route towards the end since I needed an out and back option. Ended up doing 14 miles out and back. Beautiful trail definitely coming back.
