There are beautiful views of the bay on this scenic trail! Accessibility: Part of this route on the east side is considered wheelchair and stroller friendly, such as along the paved Dillon Point Road and the first 0.3 miles of the Carniquez Strait Trail. The most accessible portions can be viewed on their own trail page here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/sf-bay-trail-military-west-and-carquinez-strait-loop-accessible
Love it!! Its a beautiful trail by the water. People on the trail seem respectful and friendly. Its short and sweet trail. Its well maintained. Def stroller friendly. Some minor hill grade which is great for easy exercise and still get the heart rate up. Many benches and tables to relax or stretch. Def making this one my regular.
I can’t believe this little gem was less than 10 minutes from my house! I’m new to hiking so I thought this would be the perfect easy one to start with based on the reviews, and man they weren’t kidding! It is absolutely amazing! There’s other cool trails off the main one that leads you right down to the water too! So breathtaking! And I did this hike solo, so I’m itching to get back with friends & family! What could’ve took me an 1.5 hr ended up into 3.5! I just couldn’t stop myself from wandering and snapping pics of everything in sight!!
Loved the flexibility of all the trails so you can lengthen or shorten the hike as needed. Loved seeing the wildflowers.
Beautiful trail with many scenic sites. Places to stop and rest or just take in the surroundings.
Nice easy hike. Around 4pm on a weekend there was plenty of parking. For most of the route there are beautiful views of the water, of course some of those views are facing Richmond industrial areas. The trail starts out wide and paved, nice for social distancing and pups. About 3/4 mile in the trails become extremely narrow and the tall yarrow makes it tricky to pass other folks.
This is a nice hike with some great views of the Bay and the Carquinez Bridge. However, the parts of the AllTrails route that go through the Benicia State Park are a bit contrived, and in many places veer off the main trails to pursue a track through the weeds, which drops the rating down a notch.
Good trail! A little hot when we took our dog. And a little dry heat, but amazing views of the bay and bridge!
