RunningGreat!Off trail

Our first time exploring this trail! We enjoyed the little hike! We even found a fort in the middle of a eucalyptus forest! Lots of scenic views of the Carquinez straight and bridge as well! The terrain was not too hilly but rather flat. We will definitely come visit this area again! Highly recommend this trail!

Rolling hills, beautiful views. Pup liked it & kids had fun with this hike. Parked downhill from the Bull Valley Trailhead next to the pier.

HikingGreat!

Exactly what I needed on an easy day. There was room for about 10 cars in a small paved parking lot. The views were gorgeous. Some of the eucalyptus tree leaves were yellowing. Of the dozen or so people on the trail only saw one person with a mask. Be sure to be courteous to feeling trail users and come preparers with a mask. Luckily most folks were far away and the trail was very wide.

Hiking

Wonderful hike with views of the Carquinez bridge and the Benicia bridge. Easy hike and fairly even packed dirt trail surface. My advice is to not follow AllTrails advice for the start. There is plenty of parking near Eckley pier.

One of my favorite overlook trails in the area. Has beautiful views of the carquinez bridge and lots of open green hills. There are a lot of cows grazing this area so you definitely have to watch where you step for cow droppings. Lots of sun but the further you go down the more eucalyptus trees there are. There are also a few random picnic tables on the trail that would make a great place to sit and watch the view. There is a restroom available but it is currently closed because of the stay in place order.

Short trail perfect for my 4 and 5 year olds. Great bay views of surrounding towns. Still green. It’s a ranch so there are some cow patties along the way. Some shade in the eucalyptus, mostly sun.

Nice short loop with good views. Okay for kids but do not recommend for strollers unless you have a sturdy jogging stroller. Trail is bumpy. Also lots of cow poop which can be an unwelcome distraction/hazard for younger kids.

This was an excellent easy hike. Lots of places to take beautiful pictures. Nice walk through a eucalyptus forest. I saw birds, lizards and flowers. There was an outhouse at the trailhead that appeared to be well taken care of. I intended to do the 1.6 mile loop, but ended up doing the 1.9 mile loop.

Hiking

I inadvertently headed down Eckley Rd in trying out this trail earlier today, and realized almost immediately I headed the wrong way (15% grade); headed back up, and entered the "cow gate" towards the outhouse, and this was the beginning of the trail. I saw only one other person on the trail (altho there were several cars in the parking area). Offers nice views of the bay and bridges... in the "loop" part (middle of the walk), there is some shade provided by the fairly dense forestry. Also in the loop area, there are some spots where it's hard to know if you're on the trail... stick to your gut and stay to the gently trodden grass. Altho, there appear to be some other trails along the way heading off in different directions. Just stick to the map provided here, and you'll do fine. There is some slight incline on the trail; I'm in my 60's with a bum hip, and it was fine. I ended up walking about 1.72 miles, nice and fairly easy walk.
