Has a little something for everyone. You can chose the easier trail or harder ones. I like that the bikes were mostly separate. It’s very dusty though and not trees so it’s a must to go early.

Trail itself is nice, not a lot of shade. The amount of mountain bikers really stopped me from enjoying the trail. Some were courteous but most weren’t.

HikingGreat!

Great trail options. We ended up doing a 7.4 mi clockwise loop—>Started at Top of the World to West Ridge, then descended Rock It across to Coyote Canyon. Then down Wood Creek to Dripping Cave (a must see) back up Wood Creek to ascend Car Wreck (challenging leg workout) to West Ridge and then back up to Top of the World. Overall nice views of the surrounding canyons and ocean, shaded in the canyons. Watch out for mountain bikes. Majority were courteous. Had a near miss between my husband and I (hiking) and 3 bikers coming fast head on around a bend on Coyote. Trail was narrow with limited space to step aside and two of the bikers were coming around a blind bend super fast. Luckily hubby heard them coming and was able to yell out. Ocean breeze was welcome. We started round 3:30 pm and ended about 6:30. Didn’t stay for sunset but would be a nice finish. Not too crowded for a Saturday afternoon especially once you get on the more difficult trails. Had Dripping Cave to ourselves.

Trail starts off easy and becomes a bit challenging on the way back since it’s uphill. No shade and can get very hot so bring your water! Connects with other trails

This was more than moderately trafficked but we started late, after 10am. Great uphills. I’ve been off hiking for a few months and enjoyed this challenging but doable hike. Start early. Pack water. Enjoy!

There are a lot of people of the west ridge trail, some mountain bikers on the rocky trail, bumpy on the rock it trail. Nice hike overall~

Great loop! Really more 9 1/2 miles if you go straight through. Only quibble is it was a little crowded on a Saturday morning. Otherwise, amazing range of views and environments.

I decided to walk the West ridge road today, and venture down Rock IT, lynx, and Stair Steps, and figure out these trails. These trails are narrow and rocky, and somewhat challenging. All in all it was good understanding the trails available off West Ridge road. West ridge road is about 2. 1/2 miles out from the park. I will say that the trail markings are excellent.
