Beautiful new (2015)/upgraded trail passes by cascading streams and Lower Caldwell Lake before reaching Upper Caldwell Lake. Great wildflowers and Mount Shasta makes a grand appearance over the lakes. Note in 2016 there were NO SIGNS!

Fun trail, only 2 other people on the trail. Lakes were great for our dog to swim. Trail gets a little steep at times, but fairly easy. Will definitely do again!

Excellent trail. Starts off with a gentle incline and gradually becomes moderate. The lower Caldwell Lake is a bit harder to access due to the trail going by it and the surrounding trees. The upper two lakes can be circumnavigated, though some parts were marshy. The very upper lake had a spring flowing into it (came out of the mountain about 50 feet uphill). Some beautiful views of Mount Shasta too.

Road there was paved but one lane at times. With steep curves, slow driving recommended.

Gorgeous recently rebuilt trail to lakes that rival Heart Lake for their perspective of Mt Shasta
