You have to park further away, my lexus is not built for that road. Overall nice trip, but watch out for the snakes.

Nice hike. Beautiful last mile and a half. Not a trail, though. It’s an OHV road. We didn’t run into anyone, no off roaders even. Great day!

HikingGreat!

I liked this hike a lot more than I was expecting. The road is a little sketch, but it doesn't get worse so if you can drive to the "start" on AllTrails you can keep going all the way until the turn where there is a gate. I went on a Sunday on a holiday weekend and saw no other hikers and only a couple dirt bikes/buggies. The views were really nice. I was surprised to see decent sized snow patches on the trail, but because the road is wide you can walk around them.

The trail was being used by off-roaders. The trail actually starts at the end of the paved road unless you have a high clearance vehicle. The extra distance adds 1.5 miles each way. Spectacular views. Little shade. It’s rocky but nothing too steep or difficult.

First to Review

Is recommend this trail to individuals with experience or small group who are new to hiking. It’s a tough terrain and very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. Best time to hike it is spring and fall. If you hike the entire 13.6 miles, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of Silverwood Lake. If you hike in the summer, carry enough water! If you hike in the winter, you can enjoy some water from local springs. Enjoy!
