Very fun and unexpectedly adventurous!
Definitely not "a nice stroll along the creek"! The trail had a lot more up and down than expected. Many downed trees had completely taken out the path, leaving craters in its stead or having us scramble over or under roots, trunks and branches. After recent rains, the creek was so full that crossing it meant wet feet or boots even with those little floating bridges. Also, it wasn't that easy to find the route going counterclockwise, before getting dow to the creek. Keep your eyes peeled for the cute little newts - we counted some 22 of them, and at least 231 banana slugs. Even the fire roads are enjoyable in this state park, which pleasantly surprised me with its almost primal nature. Felt like being somewhere remote in the Pacific Northwest! Overall, very enjoyable if you are up for a little adventure, at least this time of the year!
