Decent trail. Once you get to Bunny trailhead and start walking, there are several little trails you can venture off onto. We chose “Horse Camp” - +900ft elevation, 1.7mi and reached a cabin at the top. You cannot bring dogs past a certain point though. Trailhead point has the scenic views right away. Any trail works. Family friendly too.

I know it’s rated easy, but there’s a lot of uphill so if you aren’t used to hiking it might not be for you. I would rate intermediate. The views are stunning

Could not locate the trail well enough to follow it. Completely snowed in. Decided to go up the mountain to my left and just climbed up it. Had a great time.

This is a walk on the closed snow road. It's good for a stroll with kids and dogs in the winter. The sledding is awesome but didn't feel like a hike at all.

This trail is actually a walk on the road. It is November and the road is closed so there was no traffic, but we did not get our hiking boots dirty. The AllTrails map shows a straight red line that runs right next to and crisscrosses the road, but we never found any trail next to the road and everyone we saw was also walking the road. The second thing to note is Mt Shasta is not pretty this time of the year. Without wildflowers or snow it is pretty dreary.

We hiked till Horse Camp from Bubby Flat and the hike was great. Easy to moderate level for people who have newbie hikers. Amazing views of mount Shasta and almost all of the trail surrounded with tall trees. Camping needs no reservation ar Horse Camp so would definitely recommend that.

The trail was amazing as usual. However the road from Bunny Flats to Panther Meadows trail head was closed for some reason. So we had to park at Bunny Flats and hike 1.8 miles each way to access the trailhead. Once on trail, and after the fog cleared, incredible views. Definitely go to the end of the trail. The meadow is a great spot for lunch.

Easy way to get to Panther Meadows when the road is closed, like now.

We went up the mountain from Bunny flat to horse camp. We had to hike over snow almost near horse camp. Manageable with tennis shoes. It was amazing as weather was warm. You get to see closer view of mount sashta glacier peak, tall trees on the way.

This trail started at Bunny Flat trailhead off of Everitt Hwy to Horse Camp. I didn't notice the "recording" of this wasn't working until half way up. There was still quite a bit of snow patches along the way. The Ranger volunteer said that they only a few and could be walked easily. There was more than a few! We were able to traverse them wearing tennis shoes (it was all we had) but should have used better hiking boots or portable keats on our shoes. Nice views. Had lunch at Horse Camp (there are two small wooden benches) but it was still in a snow field. The temp was ~64°F so you didn't need heavy coat.

We did Bunny Flat through panther meadow campground (on the hardball) up to Gray Butte. Had lunch on Gray Butte, awesome views up there! Very few people up that high this late in the season, so it was nice and secluded. Gray Butte and back was right at 7.2 miles.

Never actually found the trail. Signage in the Bunny Flat area is really poor. We ended up on one of the climber routes headed to the summit and after a couple miles figured out we were way off track. But the climber route was pretty nice (although very steep in spots).

I was excited about this new trail that parallels the road, winding through forest, but quickly realized there are much nicer hikes through this area. The hike is sort of dusty and rough at this point; about 1.5 miles in I decided to head back to the car and up to Old Ski Bowl to do one of the hikes up there (Panther Meadows and/or Southgate Meadows - grey butte is also nice), which are much nicer.

Scenic driving

Nice drive up to the very end of Everitt Memorial Hwy on Mt. Shasta from Bunny Flat, where those that are hiking to the very top start, and to the end of the road to the Old Ski Bowl trail. Absolutely beautiful views of Shasta. Do not miss going to the end of the road.
