Great trail for the kids! 1/2 mile to the little creek that can be played in a little...a rock bridge that leads to the other side where the trail continues if you want it to. We did about 6 miles into the next trail before turning back around. We’ve done this in spring and summer, most beautiful in the spring time for sure!

Super easy little trail. Was raining some so it was a good little hike to get of the Rv for a bit.

We found a ring road going up from the creek on the way back.

We turned up in Kernville after touring California for a few weeks, not equipped for major hikes and so this was easy for family of 5 youngest 6 year old boy. The creek at the end was decent enough to lie in and sort of swim, the other trail that carries on would mean wading through the water, about 30 inches at most. Nice peaceful walk, largely flat, short enough that there where no complaints. Close to Kernville.

Hiked this today, quick hike in the middle of the day. Warm (as to be expected) but there were some breaks of shade throughout (not much though). We had cooling towels and plenty of water so no struggle there. A little downhill rocky section but nothing major. Made it to the creek with a bank and rocks to sit and hang out - let the dog play in the water but never found any bridge or log to cross. The water was a bit too high to cross over on the rocks, but it was a fun little hike. ☀️

We loved the creek. It was a hot day and perfect for relaxing and having lunch by the creek. It’s beautiful and a very easy hike.

Did this quick hike with our 6 and 4 year old. We had planned on continuing the Whiskey Flat trail but the water is running high and fast. The log people have described to cross is either washed away or under water.

One of my favorite trails and go to! While the bridge to get over the creek was washed out, you can still hike up and down the creek. Supposedly, there’s pools for swimming and fishing further up. We ran out of time to find but will look again soon!

Nice little walk, easy trail, some rocks. The creek was high and not passable so we hung out on the bank before we walked back. Pretty area.

If you follow the trail west and up over the mountain near the mill ruins there are nice pools and waterfalls also good fishing for small Rainbow trout.

Nice and easy hike. You have to cross the creek using a log, which I thought was pretty cool. However, it’s not the prettiest hike to go on in December.

Like some said, not a lot of shade. We only crossed one creek (still no bridge but we climbed a log), but there were some washes that may have water after the snow melts. (went in early June). Found what looked like trail that followed along the river, but it quickly became overgrown and impassable. Would have been a nicer trail if we were closer to the water. The trail continues on and there's no clear marker for the end of the Bull Run trail portion. Otherwise extremely pretty trail, definitely want to hike when its cooler.

Brisk spring morning hike. Cross the creek by crawling over logs. Woulda gone further but my daughter got tired. Definitely will come back to. Bring water. No shade, which is fine in cooler temps but would be killer in the summer.

Great hiking trail from Whiskey Flat trail head to a terrific waterfall pool area of the creek. Picture perfect.

Well we didn't actually find a safe Creek crossing, so instead we went a couple of miles on a trail that followed the creek. Beautiful raging water flowing all the way. Go now while there is water in the creek as it is well worth it.

Well marked trail, flat, with nice scenery with the surrounding vistas. Note, the bridge to cross Bull Run Crk was washed out this year, which limits your mileage northbound. I was able to follow another trail westbound up the creek for some way, and I've heard there are some pools if you continue further. Lots of exploring can be had in this area.

this is a nice trail, we coulf not cross the bridge because it was taken by the water but we followed the spring upstream to some pools . we met some local older folks on the trail that told us about them and that they are much prettier in the summer

nice trail, not stroller friendly. we passed a neat bridge someone had made. beautiful scenery. we were looking for some pools someone said were around but didn't find any. we stayed all the way to the right. there are different trails shooting in different directions. find some water, was flowing good. I will definitely come back to this trail but bring my baby back pack next time.

Still a little hot this yme of year. A lot of damage from the fire breaks. Good for my 5 yo son. Easy and flat. Didn't find any water, but we got hot and turned around early.
