It's hard to find a better trail in terms of (1) proximity to Park entrance, (2) ease of hike, and (3) payoff at the end. The views from the top are stunning, and the immense glacial boulders scattered here and there along the whole length of the the trail make for diverse scenery and lots of fun climbing for those inclined to do so. The boulders, beauty and brevity of the trail make this a prime choice for families with young children, or for anyone looking for a memorable experience that doesn't involve a grueling hike.

Easy little hike with no one else on the trail. Great views at the end.

Great for young kids ages 5-9. Rocks to climb and bushes trees to explain. Note especially where the trail crowns out, families missed this point on the way down. Large tree. Good viewing of Redwood Canyon, reported to be the largest stand of redwoods in the world.

They don’t mark the trails here so it’s hard to find where you are going with the snow pack. Trees down and you don’t go to the top of the rock like I thought. If it was nicer out it might be a nice view but the haze was thick. Not really much of a trail.

Hiked this trail yesterday for sunset. It's fully covered by snow, so not an easy one in this season. You have to follow other people's steps to stay on the trail. If you want to see sunset on time, be sure to prepare to reach the top early, since the sunset in winter season could be as early as around 4pm-5pm. We started the trail at 4pm, however, we only finished half of the trail after 30mins and the sunset already started. We had to find a high point on the right side of the trial to catch the sunset. Although its not the top of the trial, it still can catch the whole sunset, very beautiful. In addition, make sure to bring a headlight, since it would be dark quickly, you might need it to find the trail while you are back.

Beautiful trail up to a granite dome with 360 views. A little different than any of the other trails we did at Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Not too steep. Well maintained trail. We were the only people on the trail in late November.

Great Panoramic view point looking over the mountains. Also amazing spot for sunset, we had the pinkest sunset at this point. We lost the trail on the way up but if you follow all trails route you will be fine. But alternatively if you want to get up to the top quicker you can just simply climb up, which wasn’t too difficult. Small car park but we went at the start of November so was quite and space. Also no toilets at trail head.

Such a easy, short trail that had great views at the end. Saw a flock of quails running across the path. We had the trail all to ourselves but we started around 8am. We were glad to do this hike early in the morning since this is not a lot of shade available. Truly enjoyed the views from Buena Vista Peak. 8/19/2018

beautiful views at the top and an easy and pleasant climb to get there. my babushka and I enjoyed it thoroughly and only encountered 2 other people on the trail

Nice hike, but it’s a little tough to follow the path as you reach sight of the rocky bald summit. And after enjoying a nice twilight vista, it’s doubly hard to find the path back down.

Stumbled across this trail while visiting King’s Canyon back at the end of January. A lot of the Park was closed due to snowy roads but we stumbled across this one and fit in one last hike before the end of the day. Easy 40 mins up to the peak and back down right at sunset. Easily made our day as we had our 2 yr old with us.

Definitely more snow then anticipated but it made this short hike more of a fun adventure. The top was beautiful.

One of the best views for such a short hike.

Quick and easy hike. Perfect short and simple trail to get an amazing view of the sunrise if you get up there early enough!

An easy trail with a great view. The actual trail was not displayed in my AllTrails map. Check the map displayed at the trail start. It shows the correct path.

I completed the trail yesterday, April 10. It is an easy hike, only one mile from the parking lot to the end of the trail. Its is not a proper peak but rather a semi dome with big boulders on top. The views to the forest are better than the views from the overlook a few miles away along the highway. As of yesterday there was a few inches of snow but nothing bad. Make sure to check out the granite formations in the beginning of the trail. I do not know why it said that the trail is on Springville when it actually is inside of the National Park
