Lightly trafficked great trail with wildflowers and multiple vistas overlooking the park’s valley and the vineyards surrounding St. Helena/Rutherford. As others have said, this trail is quite sunny!! Pack sunscreen and reapply it. There are a few places where the trail is overgrown, but not massively. I’d rate this as hard rather than moderate. The climbs are fairly intense and, on a hot morning, seem like they might never end. Pack plenty of water and bring a snack.

A terrific day hiking. The planet part is really fun. Lots of canopy cover. Beautiful foliage. Gets harder as you climb the mountain. Great views of vineyards and Valley, sobering walk through fire destruction but they’ve done a great job with replanting and restore. Some steep parts for a great leg, flute and cardio workout. Some gravel paths on way down are slippery so watch your footing. Wear sunscreen and hats of out in mid day sun in summer. I didn’t and got burnt! We covered about 7 miles in 2 1/2 hours. Great way to spend a day.

Great hike that starts out flat while passing the planetary distance signs, gradually gets moderate. After reaching the peak, there are several hills making sure you get a little workout. Long, fairly easy jog coming down Bald mountain for a cardio kick and faster hike.

The Brushy Peaks trail, along with a few others are still closed because of the fires last year. However, Team Sugarloaf has done an awesome job with rebuilding, so I don't expect the trails to stay closed for much longer (fingers crossed). I ended up doing Bald Mt trail to Grey Pine trail to Meadow trail to do a loop. Despite the inclement weather and heavy cloud cover, the 'views' were spectacular. The rolling fog passing over the charred manzanita scrub on Bald Mt was almost surreal.

Well defined. Lots of sun. Not busy. Might be worth an annual pass to this park. Had restrooms at base which was a plus.

I hiked a portion of this trail combined with the Gray Pine Trail and the Bald Mountain Trail. It was a moderately strenuous 8.4 mile loop. There are lots of scenic views of Mt. Tam, Mt. Diablo and other surrounding peaks. The ascent was about 2200 ft..
