Brush Creek Trail is an unofficial trail that starts off easy; however, it quickly becomes rough and more challenging as it requires some scrambling over large granite formations. The creek is swollen with rushing water in the spring that empties into the Kern River, so practice caution.

Beautiful, short and easy hike to stunning waterfalls/tea cups. We’ve gone waterfall sliding many times here in the summer when the flow has been higher. Right now there’s a bit of ice around the falls but it’s still very manageable; we had our 7/10/13 year olds with us and it was a breeze.

such fun technical hiking for me with all the rock scrambling--but easy rock scrambling!

Such a beautiful creek, the trails are not maintained but so worth the trek.

This is a beautiful trail! For the first half, you walk along Brush Creek which is flowing strong as of April 2019. The second half is more steep and rocky without much shade. However, you eventually reach a pool and natural water slides. You can keep going up the rocks along the water slides. Currently, the water slides are too rough to swim down but, we saw many kayakers! The trail is dog friendly. My English Bulldog was able to make the trek with a little assistance so, a big dog would have no problem! Parts of the trail are overgrown so, you do have go off trail a little bit. They are multiple ways to take the trail so, don’t worry if the way you leave doesn’t look the same as you came. Overall, a very pretty trail!

One of my new favorite spots along the Kern River. Trail runs along Brush Creek, with many pools to cool down in during hot summer days. There is some steep granite climbing areas if you continue on the trail and since it's not official, it requires some moderate exploration on parts. Definitely follow to "the end", which should take you to an area with mostly granite rock and cascading falls and pools.

Short hike, but more technical if you decide to go up the creek a ways. Lots of granite to climb, but some very steep areas the farther you go. If you stick to the first quarter mile, it's just a nice little creek-side trail with various shady areas for cooling off.
