This was a nice and easy hike. Great views and lots of trees and flowers along the way. $6 to park even without a ranger at the entrance booth. You put your money in these small envelopes, note your VIN and license plate number on it, put the stub/receipt portion on your dash, and drop the envelope in the bin up front. Make sure that when you get to the view bench on the trail overlooking Linda Mar Beach, that you continue up Brooks Trail to get closer to the falls. Instead, we headed to the right, down the Montara Mountain trail which took us back to the parking lot. Although this was a nice trail, it took us away from the falls. Make a left at the bench instead to get to the falls and walk down along Trout Farm trail!

We did this loop right after the rain and it was muddy but accessible. Good elevation gain and a pretty view of the fall from a distance.

We did this in the spring toward the end of the rainy season, hoping to catch the waterfalls. They were more like trickles at that point, but the hike was easy and beautiful. We saw many lizards along the way, which was fun as well. The views were fantastic. A great hike.

Beautiful, easy hike with slight but constant elevation on way up. Recommend coming down on same trail (vs doing loop) and only doing the Brooks Creek trail vs Montara.

The trailhead has multiple hiking options. It costs $6 to park. We hiked the 2.5-mile loop trail on Montara Mountain, which was nicely shaded and had good views, including an ocean view and bench at the top. It was a pleasant, easy hike. Gently up a mile, then down 1.5.

Dirt trail through a canyon to the summit looking out over Linda Mar Blvd to the ocean. It meets the Montara Mountain trail and winds down with switch backs through a forested area. The views are beautiful, starting with the quiet canyon, then from the summit you see the valley, and the ocean. There are benches a long the way to sit and take in the scenery. Saw lots of rabbits, lizards, and birds. Only 1 or 2 other hikers, but that was it. The elevation is 1646, not 646. I think they missed a "1" Took us about 1.5 hours with stops along the way. Great trail!

Awesome trail, good for kids

Relatively easy, well-marked dirt trail with quarter-mile markers. We did the Brooks Falls Trail on the way up and the Montara Trail on the way down with two kids in carriers. The toddler walked until he was tired - the trail is pretty easy for kids. The waterfall was only a small trickle, since it's been awhile since the last rainfall. Views are great (both mountains and ocean), and there are benches periodically for resting and lookout points. The trail is partially shaded, partially exposed to the sun.

Great walk. Did it with a 2.5 year old. It's uphill so something to consider.

Fun rainy day spot

Rather than the loop, it's better to turn around and come back down from the top. The second half of the loop is views of roads and houses.
