Please note that as of June 2020, this trail is experiencing full or partial closure due to COVID-19. Please visit the park website for more updated information. Yosemite National Park is open to those with reservations begining on Thursday, June 11. See the park website for more info: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/covid19.htm A quick walk to a stunning waterfall, believed to be the home to the protector of Yosemite Valley. The waterfall is appropriately named: when there is enough wind, the mist looks like the veil a bride might wear. The Ahwahneechee tribe believed the fall to be the home of a spirit which protected the valley, and that inhaling the mist would increase ones chance of marriage. For Yosemite Waterfall standards, this 620ft fall doesn't stand out compared to Yosemite Falls, but it is definitely worth taking the time to see this stunning waterfall as well. Like all waterfalls in Yosemite it is best seen in spring when the snow has just begun to melt and the water levels are at their highest. The "hike" to the fall only takes a couple of minutes along a paved path if you parked at the nearby parking lot. It will take a little longer if you parked further down Hwy 140, but the walk is nice and flat. Although paved, this is trail is not wheelchair accessible due to its grade. Pets on leash are allowed. Please stay on paved areas and do not climb or scramble around on the rocks as this has resulted in in juries in the past.

Easy hike to the beautiful falls! We spent some time scrambling up the rocks at the base of the falls (may have fallen in once of twice, but totally worth it). Sit back, relax and take in the beautiful mist.

Enjoyed the short trail to the view of the falls. (Review from my visit in fall of 2018).

Did this back in August 2015 on my very first visit n Yosemite. Was pretty dry in August with only light sprays. Pretty cool to have seen it on several visits since 2015 in various stages of flow or lack thereof

Quick walk with excellent views. We didn’t scramble up the rocks for a closer view - icy conditions. Paved, easy, kid friendly walk.

Not much a hike, as a scenery.

Easy hike, no hassle. Hardly takes half hour for the whole hike including photo session near the falls. Pretty good view of the fall at the end. Sweet reward for a quick hike.

Overcrowded is an understatement. Not worth it. Pretty waterfall shots can be taken from the valley floor

Chemin pavé familial pour aller jusqu’à la cascade. Elle est très impressionnante. Le chemin est court et facile. Les chiens sont les bienvenus. Le parking est tout petit il faudra donc être patient pour avoir une place

Awesome experience! Especially if you venture where you’re advised not to.

Hardly a hike, rather a 5-10 minute walk to the falls. What makes this still fun is the slight climbing on the rock formations at the end. Make sure to do that. The fall was beautiful, even though it was mid September. It was also really crowded, though (at 9am).

Our first stop in Yosemite - a nice intro with the kids and something they enjoyed. Nice rock scramble past the paved trail. Late morning put this in shade so was quite pleasant in late August.

EASILY my favorite hike in Yosemite so far. Been here for 5 days and done just about every major hike (including halfdome). The view of this waterfall is amazing and it is accessible for any skill level. If you are experienced enough you can climb up the moss covered slick rocks to the uppermost level directly under the fall. Absolutely stunning view that looks like something out of a book. However, only do this if you have a high risk tolerance as the rocks are extremely slippery. For less experienced you can climb the rocks directly to the secondary level of the fall and swim in the pool underneath, with a complementary rock water slide that is thrilling to slide down. The water is the perfect temp and great for sore muscles. 10/5 stars
