A quick walk to a stunning waterfall, believed to be the home to the protector of Yosemite Valley. The waterfall is appropriately named: when there is enough wind, the mist looks like the veil a bride might wear. The Ahwahneechee tribe believed the fall to be the home of a spirit which protected the valley, and that inhaling the mist would increase ones chance of marriage. For Yosemite Waterfall standards, this 620ft fall doesn't stand out compared to Yosemite Falls, but it is definitely worth taking the time to see this stunning waterfall as well. Like all waterfalls in Yosemite it is best seen in spring when the snow has just begun to melt and the water levels are at their highest. The "hike" to the fall only takes a couple of minutes along a paved path if you parked at the nearby parking lot. It will take a little longer if you parked further down Hwy 140, but the walk is nice and flat.

Very easy and beautiful. Be careful for ice near the top! A lot of people fell.

In April & May when the falls are in full volume then the hike is a must. Also, in the winter when the falls are iced over, the hike is a must to watch the ice climbers!

Not much of a hike but the view of the falls is stellar. Parking lot fills up quickly so plan a very early trip. Stop by tunnel view afterwards just up the road

Bridalveil Falls trail, Yosemite. Water still falling in November when some of the other Yosemite Falls have dried up. Beautiful, ethereal, don’t miss it. I’ll be coming back in late spring.

Beautiful view of the fall off the top of the mountain. We did hike down to the actual fall. Slippery rocks so it is more dangerous. Use caution.

You get real close to the falls. Too bad not much water was falling but it was still worth it

Easy and well paved path with a view of the waterfall at the end. Rocky area under the waterfall to boulder on.

This is a short hike but it’s great to get out of the car and stretch your legs after a long drive because it’s the first waterfall you come to in Yosemite Valley. Parking is hard because the lot is small and summers get very crowded, so be patient. The trail can get crowded too, but there is bathrooms at the trailhead, misty conditions if the falls are full, and good photo ops.

Amazing. A short walk turned into rock hiking up to the base of the falls and swimming in refreshing water (cold!!). Wife and two kids climbed the rocks. Very slippery, use caution. Barefoot on the way down was much easier.

Beautiful falls that are perhaps too close to the road. There are just too many people everywhere, scrambling on the rocks, screaming on top of their lungs and in general exhibiting the sort of "crowd behavior" that one would expect to see at an amusement park rather than in nature.
That said, it is definitely wort stopping by if you're driving past.

Short, paved trail with lots of people. Takes maybe 10-15 minutes to make the bottom of the waterfall from the parking lot. Well worth the stop.

Very easy paved trail, done several years ago! Very very crowded. Not the way I like to enjoy nature but is great for all skill levels and the falls are pretty. Just felt very much like a "tourist attraction".
