Did this hike at 6 in the morning. Pretty nice short hike to do when you have things to do during the day. There is a little sitting area when you get to the top. There’s a sign that says dangerous trail conditions but everything was fine, maybe due to a short steep area. Saw a couple coyote and lots of bunnies!

Parking lot is busy, but the trail itself is not. Very wide trail, lots of space for mountain bikers and hikers to cross easily. Very easy hike, lots of pretty scenery and wildflowers!

Fun little loop. I go with the family often. Very little foot traffic, and rare to see non-hikers.

about .75 miles from the parking lot you will see the entrance marked "Dangerous Trail Conditions". The 1st section is steep and with ruts. I think dangerous because of the mountain bikes coming the other way. Once past the steep area it levels out with beautiful scenery. The boulders are unique and huge. I did machinery. They are widening the trail, also cougar ridge. I think its a good idea because of mountain bikes and it is easier to see rattlers. They remove rocks also. Once you get to the Gazebo, you can venture down Cougar Ridge trail for a farther hike, or continue down to finish the loop. About 4 miles round trip. My new favorite hike in Daley Ranch.

Hilly, nice trail. No place to sit and rest until over half way through. Very scenic. Wildflowers were beginning to bloom.

In the process of “fixing” the trail they’ve made it 2-3x it’s previous size, it’s practically a fire access road. I’m not sure if they are done yet but it’s a hot mess. Used to be nicer, maybe not worth it anymore.

My first hike this year and I intend to do all of the trails at Dixon lake “Daley Ranch.” There is a few people today and there are no clouds but the cool February weather is perfect for a quick hike.

Fairly easy trail with one steep section and otherwise tops out flat for some extraordinary views of Escondido plus lovely Joshua Tree like golden boulders that dot the landscape. Lots of birds in the area plus amazing native plants with good signage. The trail is well marked, which is another perk. Takes less than two hours to complete.

Nice quick trail with one challenging incline followed by a relatively flat or downhill finish. There were two or three large pools of water, which I imagine only get worse after it rains.

Nice hike through mostly boulder surroundings. I climbed one to have a snack and mediate. Only one part has good city views. I was hoping to get a better view further into the hike but never really did. Would be a good hike for kids as there are a lot of boulders to climb along the path but a tad too long.....at least for my kiddos.

Took our 3 boys who are 7,7, and 9. It was longer than they cared for but was good for them. I would love to do it again as a family hike.

This trail is probably a lot of fun to run up hill of you're in good shape. I'm getting there so I ran part of it and as long as you pace yourself, it's a fun hike/run. I saw two rattlers and many, many flies. I did it in about an hour and a half because I stopped to take a lot of pictures.

A couple of steep sections near the beginning is followed by easy, pleasant hiking through boulder strewn landscape. There is a scenic lookout at the top. If the parking lot is full, there is a $5 lot adjacent to it.
