This is a moderate to difficult hike with the last mile being the difficult part but a nice day hike.

I was planning to have lunch at the lake, taking in a swim, but was disappointed by the pond. I guess there’s a reason why Katherine Joy barely mentions this lake in her book. Had a good outing though, although I didn’t see any bears as I did last year.

This was a decent hike. Took my dog for an overnight trip. The first few miles are beautiful through the forest along the river with slight elevation changes. The last mile or so is all uphill pretty steep. I was carrying 60lbs of gear on my back which made it pretty difficult. Got to the lake right after sunset, and it wasn’t the best lake, more like a pond with kinda dirty water and no easy access except through the marsh.

Overall, it was a nice hike, although next time i wouldn’t start the ascent to the “lake”, it wasn’t worth it. I did catch a fish though!

Camped up at Boulder Lake on a Sunday night and didn't see a soul either day. Great views to be had from some boulders just south of the lake. The lake itself is nothing special, but the trail follows the river/creek the entire time which makes for a relaxing hike. Some great flowers were out as well. The last mile and a half or so are a consistent climb of nearly 2000ft, but it earns you those nice views! Recommend for an overnighter.

This is a spectacular hike. Excellent views, lots of fun climbing and exploring along the way. The lake is more of a pond but still fun for a quick dip if you can get away from the mosquitoes.
