Such a great trail to the boiling springs lake. We saw so many butterflies and a few deer. It was super hot, but there was shade under the pine trees. Just loved the walking path, joined in with part of the PCT and the beautiful green meadow.

Did this on last Sunday (07/07). The lake was stunning. Saw a bear on the way back from the lake. It was busy eating or doing whatever it does! Luckily there was a big group in front of us and we continued our way down without any hassle. Another group reported another 2 bears near the start of the trail. Recommend going with a group if you are wary of bears! ;)

A nice trail that joins the Pacific crest Trail on an upward slope to the lake. Make sure you hike around the lake so you don’t miss the amazing views. This gets five stars because of the views at the far end of the lake and some of the thermal features.

Very diverse terrain. Beautiful trail. It has gradual incline the whole way up to the lake and very easy hike down.

This place has been added as one of my favorite hikes, it is so secluded and breathtaking. To see this Lake was amazing and hearing the water boil and seeing steam come from the water blew my mind! Water temperature is about 125 degrees. Totally worth checking out, so much beauty to see and it isn’t a very popular spot which is so surprising but I guess that’s a good thing:)

Do the whole loop around the lake. The view from the opposite side includes Mt. Lassen.

Easy for kids. Crosses a beautiful creek.

I thought this lake was awesome. The brown green mud with red clay blue sky and green trees. Mix that together, sure makes some great pictures

This was a nice hike - wanted to do the Devils Kitchen hike, which is off of the same trailhead and makes for a nicer longer hike. Unfortunately we encountered a young brown bear on the trail to Devils Kitchen so just turned around and did this one. Didn’t see any more bears but keep your eyes up and alert - they are active and there aren’t any signs or warnings (we left one on the trailhead though).

Pretty easy hike to get to, a slight incline as your heading to the lake but was a cool sight to see

One of our favorites because of the changing terrain and views. We went in the spring and hiked through snow which made the whole hike much more fun! Definitely hike around the lake to see the views of Lassen from the other side. This is an excellent family hike!

Trail-head didn't exactly match the map, but we found it! Very nice hike, talked to a few PCTers. We had the boiling lake to ourselves to enjoy. Great views!!

Mildly terrifying to listen to all the gasses bubbling and to see all the water bubbling as you hike past. A great display to remind us that Lassen is only asleep but not extinct.
